Power
Transmission in the district is being done by Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC).
Mandagere Hydel Scheme is a 3.5 MW power station located downstream of Gorur dam across River Hemavathy in K.R.Pet taluk of Mandya district
Hydro-Electric power project at Shivanasamudram, the first hydro electric power project in India established in 1902, generates about 42 Megawatts(6x3+4x6MW) electric power.
Hydro-Electric power project at Shimsha established in 1940, generates about 17.2 MW (2x8.6MW)electric power.
Keelara power Pvt. Ltd., Hydro electric power project at Keelara, Mandya Taluk is commissioned and functioning with 2 MW capacity.
Malavalli Power Plant Private Limited which is an Agri based project has a generating capacity of 4.5MW

TourismShivanasamudram Island : This sparking waterfalls flows through the abundant sylvan forest of Karnataka in Deccan Plateau, plunges 320 feet into gorge into a spate, breaking into a cloud of misty foam.Srirangpatnam Island: Situated on the Kaveri River, the island-fortress of Srirangapattana is famous as the former capital of the great kings, Hyder Ali and his son, Tipu Sultan, the ‘Tiger’ of Mysore’. The ruins of the magnificent fortress is the main tourism attraction.Karighatta Temples: is a hill situated a few kilometers outside the ‘island’ town of Srirangapatna. It is situated off the Bangalore-Mysore road just before Srirangapatna. The name translates to “Black Hill” in Kannada.Melukote Temple: is located near Mysore in Karnataka houses an ancient shrine to Vishnu, worshipped as Tiru Narayana. This shrine is known for its long standing association with the spiritual leader Ramanujacharya.Srirangapatna Temples: is a city of historic, religious and cultural hub situated in Mandya district of Karnataka, just about 13 kms from Mysore. A must see place on Bangalore-Mysore Highway.Hemagiri Falls: This place is located 8 Kms from KR pet.Brindavan Gardens (43 KM): The Brindavan Gardens is situated at the base of the Krishnarajasagar Dam built across the river Kaveri. The dam, 2.4 km long and forming a 130 sq km lake, is one of the biggest in India. It has been built in stone without cement and comprises of parapets and a grotto for the river Goddess Kaveri. The terraced Brindavan gardens, with swirling fountains and illuminated by colorful lights, looks like a fairyland at night. Boating facilities are also available here.
