Knowledge productivity is fast becoming the prime mover of the global economy. Business organizations and institutions must, therefore, consciously transform into learning organizations and knowledge societies. Learning is a skill which has to be acquired and honed by training. Training has to be continuous to accentuate the skills development process. Hence, the importance of training in updating skills – technical, inter-personal and integrative – and in applying those skills for improved organizational efficiency, effectiveness and excellence.
Efficiency is not merely the ratio of input to output but is also the inculcation of the mindset to do things right. Effectiveness is doing the right thing. Excellence is doing the right thing in the right manner. Training helps one to excel in one’s job and enables the organization to achieve excellence.
The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) has been offering Executive Development Programs / Management Development Programs for the last four and a half decades. On the basis of feedback and assessment of training needs, it has identified relevant Management Development Programs to be offered during the year 2011-12. These programs are designed to help government, public and private business organizations to enhance their competence, competitiveness, performance, productivity and profitability. Suggestions for widening the range of programs and providing a sharper focus are welcome.
IPE believes that it can contribute to good governance and better management through Management Development and Training. By fostering the culture of learning, continuous innovation and improvement, IPE dedicates itself to the service of public enterprises of the Central and State Governments, industry and business.

Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it's not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won't. It's whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.
