Dante Borgo, is Master in Architecture and Urbanism for the TUDelft in the Netherlands. After finishing his studies, Dante worked for the Rotterdam based office KAAN Architecten as a project leader for some of the international projects of the office in countries such as China, Belgium and Spain. Parallels to his studies, Borgo collaborated for the office MVRDV in Rotterdam, working in projects on the urban scale in Norway and China. Prior to his post graduate studies, Dante worked for the Mexican office 3Arquitectura, leading large scale projects for the Federal Government of that country. In 2014, together with Isabella Eriksson, founded MAIN OFFICE, a multidisciplinary practice currently developing projects in Sweden and Mexico.

Isabella Eriksson is Master in Architecture and Urbanism for the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, together with the TU Delft University in The Netherlands. After finishing her studies Isabella joined as the international office BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) working in both, the urban and the architectonic scale. Eriksson also worked in the Copenhagen based office Force4 Architects and prior to that, she did an internship in JDS architects in Copenhagen. In 2014, together with Dante Borgo, founded MAIN OFFICE, a multidisciplinary practice currently developing projects in Sweden and Mexico.

Papalote is a children’s museum in Iztapalapa, serving as a new destination, oasis, for childrens social environment. Contrary to seeking the attention of children through architectural forms and bright colors the project intrigue the child to be a part of the experience by seeing other children play, showcasing a world of fun and entertainment. Instead of closing and ignoring the environment, the building assimilates and cope with the transparency and lightness of its envelope.
All operational and service functions of the museum are concentrated into a solid core, acting as the brain or the machine of the museum. With this, the entire perimeter with its double height spaces is released and dedicated to the public; allowing a complete autonomy of the operational part of the museum with the public side, and considerably reducing the cost of construction. The perimeter exhibitions are in direct contact with the outside and is contained by a completely transparent shell, breaking the typical barrier inside-outside, thus creating a clear invitation to be part of the museum experience through visual interaction.

The Bronze is a housing project of 125 mainly small apartments, located in Mariehäll, an expanding area just outside of Stockholm. Three prismatic volumes cuts through the hilly site and a facade of shiny and strict metal makes the building stand out against its surroundings.

Made in China is a Chinese dim sum restaurant in Gothenburg with the focus on enjoying chinese flavors without the formality of fine dining.
The restaurant, located in an area historically known as the home of the citys’ labour movement, is hosted in a property going through a transformation- in total 4000 sqm being restored and adapted to new business/activities (main architect of the building transformation Axel Robach). The restaurant is placed in the new part of the property; the building is from 1977 and was formerly used as a delivery gate and warehouse.
Rather then designing a “typical” outside-of-China chinese restaurant the interior emphasizes a more industrial feeling with it’s raw, clean and simple/minimal selection of materials. New walls are all cladded with colored in grey cladding (lime plaster) and existing structure is kept in its raw original state, only painted in a darker grey.

Located on top of a hill overlooking to the Pacific Ocean, Casa de Alba is a private vacation house in Punta Mita, México. The semi cross-shaped building is divided in two levels. The ground floor is almost completely open, framing the views to the Ocean from any spot. While all the public activities are held in the ground floor, all the private functions are in the upper level.

Fjärilshuset is an infill housing tower of 36 apartments, located in the city center of Linköping. The project makes an addition to the existing housing and comercial-block from the 1960’s with a sculptural and graphical tower. The old and the new buiding gets a mutal roof top garden which is visible from the street level.

Smörgåsbaren is as foodbar serving exclusive fusion sandwiches in a harmony with a diverse range of drinks and beers in a relaxed and professional environment. The concept of the interior is following the line of simplicity. Located in the city-center of Gothenburg, Sweden, it’s placed in an old, historical building from the 17th century. Existing conditions of the space are enhanced, original ornaments freshened up, and walls simply re-painted white. With an approximate size of 50 m2, the interior is very simple; the 10-meter food-bar with its thick top of zinc, is stretched along the whole room facing the street. The bar-overhang following the bar creates a chandelier lighting up the space. All loose furniture are made out of concrete, steel and leather, a palette with material transforming well over time.

Kafé Magasinet is hosted in a property from 1892 formerly used as auction house. The cafe is con-necting two inner yards, creating a hub/natural meeting hub in the new urban flow created by the yards.
Existing walls and structures have been kept in their original shape and appearance, columns and installation painted black and the door-and windowframes upgraded with new ones in copper (same shape, new material). The bar, backbar and place-built sitting bench with integrated storage are made by untreated plywood.

With over 360,000m2 of interior space, the RRIFC Land-mark Tower is like a city within a city that will welcome a wide range of visitors including office workers and visitors, residents, shoppers and tourists. The project’s programs and amenities will attract visitors from near and far, who will come to the site for business, retail, and community and cultural experiences. The goal of the interior design in such a dynamic context is twofold: first, to create a signa-ture environment with recognizable elements that unify the project and emphasize its special importance in the city; and second to create a variety of spaces with qualities that fit the particular programs within.

Aalst, Belgium
In Crematorium Aalst, the goal was to design a building able to fold around the landscape that with its calm appeases right to the core of itself.The serene scenario of the crematorium has been carefully transposed into the design that puts emphasis on natural light and varying textures in which neutral and intelligible spaces are organized to comfort guests. The structure is a key factor. The linear and rhythmic plan alternating patios, open courtyards and glass walls is softened in the curved ceiling of the chapel. Sustainability is the backbone of the design; the use of renewable and low carbon impact materials, state of the art heat recovery systems, zero-energy consumption is achieved.

BOTTIÉRE-CHENAIE
Bottiére Chênaie is a new district and landscape transformation in the North-East part of Nantes. The South-West building contains offices, supermarket, parking and residential units. It draws a line to the East forming a small square for rainwater collection and generating an open space.The large central block is formed by ground level shops facing Sainte-Luce street, a parking area, and above-ground units. The North-East end is characterized by a residential tower with ground floor shops adding a strong, compelling element to the landscape.

Balaguer, SpainPLANTA
Planta follow the contours of the hills that define the boundary between the higher excavation plateau and the agricultural landscape. The platform is a datum in the ever changing landscape. Inside the platform will be housed a building for the display of obsession: manufacturing, landscape, family tradition, mining, and most important a show-case for a collection curated with joy and passion.The platform houses three areas: visitor entrance and warehouse, collection hall and staff entrance; all connected by multiple circulation routes. The collection space is subdivided in three blocks with specific themes. Here black and grey rooms are excavated to create “curiosity rooms” and are in a tight dialogue with cut alleys that point the main walls of the blocks allowing for spontaneous paths.The thickness of the walls transforms a simple wall into a room and the visit into a physical experience.
