The coming year promises to be a very important one from a musical perspective, as the much-anticipated Pan Am games touch down and Toronto gains momentum with the new “Music City” initiative which aims to foster all aspects of our music sector.
Much of our Lula programming for 2015 will focus on artists from the countries of the Americas as we continue to celebrate the cultural diversity that we enjoy as residents of Toronto. Lula is proud to be working on a PANAMANIA-commission that involves Danilo Perez, the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute and a stellar array of Canadian and Panamerican special guests.
In the meantime our weekend jazz and salsa series will continue to highlight music with Panamerican roots and as part of our educational programming for students in grades 7 to 12, we’ve developed five special Pan Am focussed workshops. Please read on for details of these and other special events this winter at Lula.
