Assignments for the Week 5 (Don’t forget to fill out your learning log)
Packet Assignments – Any packet assignments are from the packet for Week 5
ALL websites referenced within assignments are on Mrs. Hunt’s website under “links.” You were already emailed usernames and passwords.

2.Sight Words and myON
Reading (R) – 20 min.
First, read all of your sight
words out loud. Your sight
words are on Mrs. Hunt’s
website on the “Sight
Words” post. There, you
will find several different
sight word lists. Start with
Second-grade words, but if
those are too difficult, go to
First or Kindergarten

assignment page with the
heading: “Second-Grade
Learning Block Two-
Week Three”
For Option 1 students, you
will need to complete a
session of IStation Math,
since you are not doing
any of the paper
assignments.
2. Read aloud from your
packet (R, W & Sc) – 20
min.
Using the “April 27th”
packet, go to Effects of

Once you choose your list,
start reading the words out
loud. If you get to a word
you don’t know, ask
someone for help. In your
journal, write down the
words you read incorrectly

reread the words you
wrote down. Each week
you should be making
progress on these sight
words and moving on to
more difficult words.
Let’s plan on not taking
more than 5-7 minutes on
sight words so you can
move on to myON reading.
Next, log on to myON and
read for the remaining
time.
3.Writing (W) – Writing an
appreciation card for
Nurse Teddy – 20 min. -
this week is National
Nurses Week, so I would
Hunt’s “links,” and complete
20 minutes of math practice
on that site.
2.Istation Reading (R) – 20
min. – Log into Istation
reading and stay on for a full
20 minutes.
3. P.E. and Writing – (P.E. &
W) – 20 min. First, go to the
“Exercise Bingo” page in your
packet dated April 27th. Take
the packet outside and
complete as many of the
activities as possible within
10-15 minutes. Have fun!!
Next, in your journal, write
about which of the physical
activities you just completed
that was your favorite, and
tell why it was your favorite.
Finally, write about the
activity that was your least
favorite, and tell why you
didn’t like it as much as the
others.
Please don’t skip the writing
portion of this assignment
For Option 1 students, after
doing the physical activites, if
you choose not to write in

aloud is over, go to your
journal and write a
response to the following
prompt, and remember to
write in complete
sentences.

3. Science (SC.) Brainpop
Jr. – 20 min. – log into
Brain Pop Jr. It is under
links on Mrs. Hunt’s
website. Log in
information for Brain Pop
Jr. is:

password: brainpop.
First, once you are logged
into Brain Pop, Jr., search
for “Plant Life Cycle” video.
Watch it once or twice (or
however many times
passage is too difficult for
you, choose a
NONFICTION book from
Raz Kids, myON, or a book
from home, that is suited
to your level). Read out
loud to someone or
something (a stuffed
animal, record yourself on
a phone or iPad, or to
your pet). After reading
out loud, go to your
journal and answer the
“Five Ws and an H”
questions about what you
read. Answer using
complete sentences.
“Five W’s and an H” are:
WHO? WHAT? WHEN?
WHERE? WHY? HOW?
(Remember: Sometimes,
Nonfiction won’t have an
answer to “Who?” and
that’s okay. Just write
“None” next to “Who?” in
your journal)
Option 1 students, choose
a NONFICTION book from
myON or Raz Kids, read it
out loud and then answer
the Five W and an H
