Investing in your Most Valuable Asset is good for Business
A recent study from the Health Enhancement
Research Organization (HERO) reported that
companies that scored highly on the HERO
Scorecard of Health and Well-Being Best Practices
outperformed the Standard&Poor’s (S&P) 500
Index over the course of six years. When following the
stock performance of these 45 publicly traded
companies, HERO found that they appreciated 235%
compared to 159% for the S&P 500.
“Physical Activity is the closest thing we have to a
wonder drug.” - Dr.Tom Frieden, CDC Director
Increasing employees’ physical activity can create a
healthier workforce, increase employees’ productivity, and
decrease employees risk of developing chronic diseases.
Employees who are physically active have lower healthcare
costs, require less sick leave, and are more productive at
work. Research has proven, employees who get at least 75
minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week
miss an average of 4.1 fewer days of work per year.
Furthermore, physically inactive employees are more likely
to require sick leave—costing an average of 26 cents per
hour worked in 2014—increasing healthcare expenses for
business. Physical inactivity was responsible for 11.1%
healthcare expenses for businesses.
Collective Efficacy in Sports and Physical Activities:
Perceived Emotional Synchrony and Shared Flow
Results in this study, provide substantial evidence that participation
in collective physical activities promotes group identification,
creates bonds between participants, and bring participants to a
stage of emotional synchrony and optimal experience. Their
findings are in line with previous studies, which proved that
participation in collective gatherings reinforces collective identity,
as well as having positive effects, in this case promoting collective
efficacy.
“Zing Fitness is great! I look forward to the challenges of each boot camp every week. Each evening the circuits are always
different and Gavin really cares about each participant ensuring they are doing the exercise properly and getting the maximum result. The
Zing Fitness app also allows us to track our meals and will sync with MyFitness Pal which is awesome!
The camaraderie within the campus helps everyone stay motivated, too.”

“The best part I like about Zing is that it comes to us. We have boot camp training sessions with Gavin two days a week and yoga class with
Lauren once a week. The workout take place right here at our office. Such great convenience gives us no excuse to skip! As for the work out
itself, Gavin constantly look for new routines so we are never bored, but often sore afterwards (that’s a good thing!)”

“Five years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer right after having my fourth child. During my treatment, I continued to exercise. But little by
little, my energy level was so low that I quit trying to work out. For the next two years after two surgeries, six weeks of radiation, and twelve
rounds of chemotherapy, I was exhausted. After that, I worked out off and on but not consistently. I had lots of valid excuses. I was raising
four busy children, I was teaching at a very busy campus, and I was involved in lots of other activities that took my “free time.” Zing Fitness
was the answer to all of my excuses! Zing comes to me! I am still very busy, but Zing allows me to get my work out in before I get home. In
the 8 months I have been working out and rebuilding destroyed muscle, I can tell a huge difference. First, I sleep better than I have in
years. No leg cramps that keep me awake. Second, I have the energy for my kids. We are very competitive with each other, and they love
that mom can still hang with them. Last, I am at menopause age, I am losing muscle constantly, I have to do something consistently to
maintain. And now I am a grandma, I have another one to keep up with. Yes, Zing kicks your butt, BUT…your will feel so good
afterwards. Stop making excuses and add some “Zing” to your life.”
