CONVERSATION GUIDE
TALK ABOUT BAPTISM
If your child brought up the topic of baptism first, ask: What do you know about baptism? If you are initiating the conversation, ask: Do you know what baptism is? Either way, listen carefully!
As you talk with your child, gently correct any misunderstandings they may have. If you come upon a question you both don’t know, admit it and learn together. Ask a pastor or Google it!
If you’ve been baptized, or are planning to be baptized, tell your child about your experience, and why you made the decision.
TALK ABOUT THEIR BAPTISM
Ask: Are you interested in being baptized? Why or why not? Let your child’s answer steer the conversation - don’t push them to do it if they’re not interested yet.
NEXT STEPS
If your child is interested, download the Baptism Workbook from the parents page above. If your child doesn’t seem interested, that’s okay - wait a few months or until the time feels right and ask again.
Watch the video “Let’s Talk About... Baptism” at http://crksde.com/Parents then continue the conversation...
