TheWaverunner oscilloscopeis warrantedfornormal useandoperation, within specifications,fora
periodof threeyearsfromshipment. LeCroywill either repair or, atour option,replaceanyproductreturnedtooneof our authorizedservicecenterswithinthis period. However,in order todothis wemustfirstexaminetheproductandfindthatit is defectiveduetoworkmanshipormaterials andnotduetomisuse, neglect,accident, orabnormal conditionsoroperation.
Spareand replacementparts, andrepairs, all havea90-daywarranty.
Theoscilloscopesfirmwarehasbeen thoroughlytested andis presumed tobefunctional.Nevertheless,it is suppliedwithoutwarrantyof anykindcoveringdetailedperformance. ProductsnotmadebyLeCroyarecoveredsolelybythewarrantyof theoriginal equipmentmanufacturer.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MAINTENANCE AGREEMENTS
Weoffer a variety of servi cesunder theheading of M aintenance A greements. T hese give extended warranty
and allow you to budget maintenance costsafter the initial three-year warrantyhasexpired. I nstallation,
training, enhancements, and on-site repairs amongother servi ces areavailable through special
supplemental support agreements. I nquire at your L eCroy customer service center or national distributor.
OBTAIN ASSISTANCE
H elp with installation, calibration, and theuse of your Waverunner scopein a range of applicationsisalso
available from your customer service center.
RETURN A PRODUCT FOR SERVICE OR REPAIR
I f you do need to return a L eCroy product, i dentify it by itsmodel and
serial numbers(see page12). D escribethe defect or failure, and provide
your name and contact number.
For factoryreturns, use a Return A uthorization N umber (R A N ),
obtainablefrom customer service. A ttach it so that it can beclearly seen on
theoutside of theshipping package to ensurerapid forwarding within
L eCroy.
Return those productsrequiring onlymaintenance to your customer
servi ce center.
TTIIPP::If youneedtoreturnyour scope, usetheoriginalshippingcarton. If thisisnotpossible, thecartonusedshouldberigid.Thescopeshouldbepacked sothatit issurrounded byaminimumof
four inches(10cm) of shockabsorbentmaterial.
Wi thin the warrantyperiod, transportation chargesto the factory will be your responsibility, while products
under warranty will be returned to you with transport prepaid byL eCroy. O utside thewarranty period, you will
have to provide uswith a purchase order number before the work can bedone. You will bebilled for partsand
labor related to the repair work, aswell asfor shipping.
Y ou should prepay return shipments. LeCroycannot accept CO D (Cash O n D elivery) or Collect Return
shipments. Werecommend using air freight.
STAY UP-TO-DATE
T o maintain your Waverunner scopesperformance within specif ications, have uscalibrate it at least once a year.
L eCroyoffersstate-of-the-art technology bycontinually refi ning and improving the instrumentscapabilities
and operation. Wefrequentlyupdate both fi rmware and software during service, freeof charge during
warranty.
Y ou can also install new fi rmware yourself, without theneed of a factoryrefit. Simply provide uswith your
Waverunner serial number and I D , and the version number of the softwarealready installed (see page12),
along with ordering information. Wewill provideyou with a unique option key that hasa code to beentered
through theinstrumentsfront panel to upgrade your software. I n additi on, thevery latest versionsof L eCroys
uniqueoscilloscopesoftwareapplicationscan be downloaded from the I nternet, free of charge. I ncluded are
ScopeExplorer and A ctiveD SO .

ScopeExplorer is a highlypractical P C-based connectivity tool that interfacesWaverunner to a PC that is
running M icrosoft Windows, via the rear panel G PI B (I E E E 488) or R S-232 port. Specially designed by
L eCroyfor i tsoscilloscopes, ScopeE xplorer allowsyou to perform data and image transfersand other remote
operationsfrom scopeto PC with just a few keyboard strokesor mouse clicks. See Chapter 12, U se
Wav erunner wi th P C , for more about using ScopeExplorer with your Waverunner scope.
ScopeE x plorer now has a vir tual fr ont panel t o all ow ful l contr ol of r emote scopes.
ActiveDSO works on anyP C running Windows95, 98 or N T, and enablesyou to exchange data with avarietyof Windowsapplicationsor programming languagesthat support theA ctiveX standard, such asM S
O ffice, I nternet Explorer, V isual Basic, V isual C+ + and V isual Java. A ctiveD SO hidestheintricaciesof
programmingfor each of these interfacesand providesa simpleand consistent interface to thecontrolling
application. Y ou can also visuallyembed A ctiveD SO in anyO L E automation compatible client and use it

left of themainspower plug) usinga small, flat-bladed screwdriver. Removetheold fuse and replace it with a

entire screen with your waveforms using Full Screen.
You can personalize your Waverunner display, while
managing color and screen intensity automatically. T he
displayed signal and all related information share identifying
colorschosen byyou. Show signalsand tracesopaquely or
transparently, so that overlapping objects tracesover
traces, tracesover grids are alwaysvisible.
