Artist Statement:
My most recent series explores the concept of blurring and distorting memories through photographs I’ve taken to create dream sequences. Instead of having a cohesive narrative, the sensory perception is left up to the viewer’s imagination. Just as one travels through a dream—familiar or unfamiliar—things unravel and re-form without conscious intent. Friends and strangers collide in settings that we bend —Taking us to bizarre places— past, present, or future. The focus of this imagery could make complete sense, or conversely, be utterly random. My series is about observing how the mind shifts in the comfort of sleep and the comfort of everyday life —conscious or unconsciously. The essence of green creates a calming presence to its viewer or surroundings. One is able to sit back in their body and take in what is encompassing them.
