ew Orleans is one of the most welcoming and accepting cities in the world,
and boasts some of the finest hotels, in our humble opinion. We’ve
recently received lots of requests for a list of gay-friendly hotels. We feel that allSHARE PIN TWEET EMAIL

hotels in our city are LGBT friendly. Our city and hoteliers make the LGBT
community feel welcome. But we also know that it can be scary to travel with
your partner to another city and wonder if the place you’re staying at will make
you feel truly comfortable so you can relax and have a great time. So with that in
mind, we compiled a list of hotels that have gone above and beyond to show their
support of the LGBT community. The hotels listed here have recently sponsored
events that have helped promote equality, LGBT-owned businesses, and
friendship.

1. Hyatt RegencyCome hungry. Leave happy.
More than a modern hotel, the Hyatt Regency is literally a food wonderland with 8
Block and Vitascope restaurants to name a few. You could eat every meal of the
day at this hotel and never repeat the same cuisine twice. Pizza Consegna makes
a pie that can easily rival those in New York. This hotel has an incredible rooftopSHARE PIN TWEET EMAIL

pool available to guests only, and it’s within steps from the streetcar line. But
what really makes this hotel stand out are the things they have done to support
the LGBT community, like hosting and underwriting the HRC Gala and Pride Prom
Night for the LGBT Youth in New Orleans.

2. Windsor CourtRomance your weekend.
One of the more elegant hotels in New Orleans, the Windsor Court Hotel is
perfect for those looking to spoil themselves while they are here. With opulent
decor, antiques, mouthwatering cocktails, a world-class spa, an amazing
restaurant called the Grill Room, live music, and a brunch that makes Sundays
spectacular, this hotel is made for those who want a little pampering. Here’s a
little bonus – they put on special high teas for every holiday and occasion,
including an LGBTea during Southern Decadence weekend.

3. The Bourbon OrleansFind an oasis in the French Quarter.
A half a block from all the French Quarter has to offer, this gem of a hotel is a
haven of relaxation and old-world charm. It’s also the epicenter of some of the
best gay bars and clubs in the French Quarter. The pool, which is located in the
center of the hotel, calls out to us every time we visit. It’s the perfect spot to cool
off after a full day in the Quarter. And for those of you who are already counting
down the days to Southern Decadence, this is the place to stay, as it’s the
weekend’s host hotel.

4. Bon Maison Guest HouseStay steps away from the action.
This historic townhouse, built in 1833, with servants quarters and a gorgeous
courtyard in the middle, is not only steps away from some of the best restaurants,
shopping and nightlife, it’s also gay-owned. Guest after guest has mentioned that
when you stay at the Bon Maison Guest House, you feel like you’re coming home.
Lots of guests end up feeling so relaxed they forget the wildside of New Orleans
that’s just outside. So, if supporting a local, LGBT establishment is something that
calls to your heart – stay here. It’s beautiful from the inside out.

5. Sheraton New OrleansStay gracious.
Located on the main stretch of Canal Street with big sweeping glass windows
that make it the perfect place to sip coffee and watch the streetcars roll by, is the
Sheraton New Orleans. Canal Place – New Orleans’ premier shopping center, the
Audubon Aquarium, the Insectarium, the French Market, Bourbon Street, and
Royal Street, are all just a quick walk away. You can also walk to the Saenger
Theater to catch a show there. What we love about the Sheraton is not only that
they make all their guests feel welcome, especially their LGBT guests, but they’ve
gone out of their way to help our community by donating rooms to some of our
LGBT sweepstakes.

6. Catahoula HotelHideaway here.
For those looking to stay somewhere unique, look no further than the 35-room
boutique hotel, The Catahoula. It’s modern and chic, with a vibe you can’t find
anywhere else. Their rooftop hangout is quaint, making it feel like a tropical oasis
in the center of the city. Downstairs they have a sweet little coffee shop that’s
perfect for a quick bite to eat or to grab your morning latte on your way to explore.
We are big fans and recommend friends looking for a hip, boutique hotel
experience to stay here. It’s one of our favorites – hands down.
7. Hotel Le MaraisHave a hip stay.
This is an Ultra Violet Hotel. It’s hip. Modern. The staff really goes out of their way
to make you feel welcome. We especially love the location of Le Marais. It’s just aSHARE PIN TWEET EMAIL

stone’s throw from Jackson Square and some of our most iconic gay bars.
8. Doubletree By HiltonSee the sights.
The Doubletree is often one of the sponsor hotels for New Orleans Pride. Besides
offering guests warm chocolate chip cookies when they first check in, this hotel
has a lovely river view and is within walking distance of all the fun to be had in the
French Quarter. This is surely somewhere you will feel welcomed as an LGBT
traveler.

Centrally located to just about everything you might want to do on this side of
town, La Quinta is conveniently located downtown. It’s been newly renovated and
is better than ever. Some of our favorite restaurants just blocks away from the La
Quinta are Luke, Mother’s and August.
10. TroubadourSip and see.
This boutique hotel in the heart of New Orleans’ Central Business District is hip,
fun and a great escape. Their rooftop bar, the Monkey Board is a prime location
for watching the sunset in the city, and gazing at the city below as you sip on a
craft cocktail.

The exposed brick inside the Old No. 77 Hotel makes this place feel modern,
urban and warm at the same time. James Beard award winner, Chef Nina
Compton’s restaurant, Compere Lapin is tucked inside this downtown gem and
not to be missed. Here’s an insider’s tip – when you’re ready to order a tasty adult
beverage from the bar, ask for Abigail. She’s a local favorite and makes a mean
cocktail.
12. Jung HotelKeep it cool.
Spacious and modern and full of light, the Jung Hotel is a newer hotel in New
Orleans, but quickly becoming one of our favorites. If you’re looking for a modern
chic experience, you should definitely give the Jung Hotel a look. The location
couldn’t be better. The entrance is on Canal street and you can easily access the
Canal streetcar line to access all the wonders of Mid-City, one of our favorite
neighborhoods.

13. Ace HotelSee the scene.
This gay-owned hotel is located on the corner of Carondelet and Lafayette streets
in the heart of the Warehouse District and offers a vibrant and funky scene. You
can’t beat the Ace Hotel’s rooftop pool and Stumptown coffee inside the Ace
serves up some of the best brew in town. If you’re looking for a drink with a kick of
more than just caffeine, their hotel bar offers craft cocktails too. Inside the Ace,
you’ll find authentic Italian cuisine at its now famous restaurant – Josephine
Estelle. While everything on the menu is absolutely delicious, we recommend
indulging in one (or two) of their homemade pasta dishes.
