Click here for a video about the Paris fashion week Spring 2020. The show takes place twice a year; what do you
think of the outfits? Is there anything you would wear or your friends might?
La mode française –French fashion
Objective: to look at some French designers and talk about their unique designs and then design
your own trainer.
Paris, home of fashion!• Paris, along with Tokyo, London, Milan, and New
York City, is considered one of the world's fashion capitals, and the city is home or headquarters to many of the premier fashion houses.
• Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Chloé, Hermès, Guy Laroche, Lacoste, Yves Saint Laurent and shoe designer Christian Louboutin.
• The Paris fashion houses also attract many foreign designers.
Instructions: Research the designers above in red; choose one of them and write some facts about them – their designs, where they lived and what are they famous for? What is theirinfluence on the clothes we wear today? Then, tell one of your friends or family about them (remember to ask permission to use FaceTime or a video platform)
Coco Chanel
Yves Saint Laurent
Christian Dior
Instructions: Can you match the French designer to these shoes; try looking up their names on the internet and seeing if you can find these trainers that they designed. CLUE: The one top left is done already = Louis Vuitton
Share your creations, with permission, with us on twitter @Churchhillms and
by email: [email protected]
You could ‘tweet’ about it to the fashion houses themselves as well
@CHANEL @LouisVuitton
@Dior @JPGaultier
@LACOSTE_UK
Choose one of the designers to copy and design your own trainer.
You could use one of the templates to copy or print and colour.
If you want to be adventurous, youcould ‘design’ your own trainer and take an old pair and upcycle them (askpermission). You could add somecolours and some old fabric.
Time to get creative
The KS2 French Language Challenge:
My challenge to you, whilst we are not in-school, is
to complete as many of the activities from the
challenge sheet below as you can. The top ten
pupils from KS2, who complete the most and can
show evidence (think about how you can keep a log
of these and where), will receive a prize from Mr
Purslow when we are back in school!!
Bonne Chance!! (Good Luck!!)
