There are many ways in which this game could be used. Here is outlined the preferred method of the author, but you can adapt the game to your needs. In the first round the initial sequence is the same for both teams and the arrows disappear as the player swaps two stages correctly. This is to show in which way the yellow arrows will appear in the next rounds, but in the next stages the components will swap if the player selects the right arrow, but the yellow arrows (showing the correct flow of energy changes) will not appear until all the components are placed in the correct order. Also, from the 2nd round the initial sequence of the blue team is different from the red team, so that if blue gets one change right, it wont necessarily mean that red can select the same arrow to move on!You can challenge the boys against the girls. Say the girls start, one girl goes to the board and clicks on an arrow. If she gets it right the components change place and the turn goes to the boys, but if she gets it wrong a large rectangle will appear in front of the sequence hiding most components and making it very difficult for the rest of the team to think about the next move. Its the boys turn now, so until the next turn the girls wont be able to see the game well. This is done to give a disadvantage for making a mistake. At this point the girls will have lost a turn and if the boys get it correctly, they are ahead. There are 7 rounds at the end of which the winning team will be sent to a congrats slide from which they can access the solution for each round this is a very important feature, because in the heat of the game not all pupils will have given enough thought about the correct sequence, or they might have missed some. So, the teacher has an opportunity to feedback on the activity to the whole class.1
Careful: Click only on the arrows!Click here to go backIf the learners click outside one of the arrows by mistake they will progress to the next slide (this one). If you click anywhere on this slide you will be brought back to the game.2Kinetic Energy
