school
In St Helens most child pedestrians are hurt
whilst crossing the road because they did not look properly or they
crossed between parked cars
The main time for children to be
involved in road traffic collisions is during the week
from 3pm to 5pm
What can we do to make it safer for us?
• Take this leaflet home and give it to your grown ups.
• Talk to them about the problem of parking near to school.
• Ask your grown ups to find somewhere safer to park.

• Ask your grown ups to park away from the school – and definitely not on the zigzags or yellow lines!
• Help your grown ups by spotting driveways so they can park away from them.

• Have a go at ‘Park and Walk’ with your grown ups.
• When you go in the car, make sure you always get out of the car on to the pavement – not into the road.
We will have some special people to help us keep
safe.• Parking Enforcement
Officers from the Council will help us by visiting.
• They will give out tickets and fines to people who park dangerously or selfishly.
