About Location

Location nearest to Cochin port, A natural all weather port on the southwest coast of

India. It is located at the Willington Island at latitude 9°58 N and longitude 76° 14 E.

With its location on the south west coast of India.

Cochin is strategically closer to the international sea route between Europe and Far East

(for Azerbaijan), Richmond Marine Electromechanical Cont. LLC (for the projects with Emirates

Grain Co., Emirates Refining Co., Tiffany Group of Co., of IFFCO in Sharjah Port periphery and

elsewhere in U.A.E).and is known to each industrial leaders in Indian marine Industry.

2009 Aug- till to date have been managing own enterprise for Designing and Fabrication/

Welding of all kinds of Steel Truss/ Structural/ Roofing Works.

During Jan- Mar 2011, had been working as Manager Operations under Sea Blue Shipyard

Ltd., Cochin. Was sent for commissioning the Projects in Goa. Target was to establish business with

Western India Shipyard Ltd at Goa in the fields of Hull, Pipe, Mechanical, Electrical and Docking

Preparations. The business is established and expressed unwillingness to work at Goa.

During 2008 Jan to 2009 Aug, had been working on one year contract as Works Operations

Manager (Ship Repair Division) under Richmond Marine Electromechanical Cont. L.L.C. an ISO 9001

company in Sharjah, U.A.E. But the job included preparation of Estimating, Quoting, Planning,

Erecting and Commissioning Steel Structures/ Pipe Lines and Machineries of Emirates Grain Co.,

Emirates Refining Co., Tiffany Group of Co., of IFFCO in Sharjah Port periphery. On own interest,

undertaken Ship Repair jobs in Port area, but had to wind up as company had no marine experienced

technicians. Hesitated to continue with the company.

From 27 March 2004 February 2005 on one year contract, had been working for

Saipem under Global Petro Projects Services, on Star Gulf Project with Bos Shelf for jack up

fabrication at Baku, Azerbaijan. Worked as leadsman for Piling pipes, Floatation tank, Conductor

Guide and frames - fabrication and fittings.

From 15 June 2002 to 10 July 2003 had been working in Dubai Dry Docks, U.A.E as Steel

Work Preparatory and Steel QC.

Job included: - To attend refit meeting, to identify defects as per the defect list, measurement,

estimation and planning of steel works onboard, Liaison and initializing auxiliary works related to

Mechanical, Electrical and pipe shops, preparation of ship's drawings in AutoCAD for fabrication

and Erection, Steel material description for invoicing etc., for all the steel works related to ships

and vessels under repair, conversion or construction.

As Steel QC, have done Dimension Control at New Ship Construction/ Repairs; have done

NDT inspections on welded Units/ Blocks.

Under the Indian Navy (1982-1997)

(1987-1991) Onboard Floating Dock (of 185M length, 35M width, 2.5M draft & 14,000 MT Capacity)

constructed in Japan and purchased from Escorts Ltd in 1986 by Indian Navy.

Was a Commissioning Shipwright Artificer onboard Floating Dock.

Job included: - Supporting the civil Expert Mooring team for mooring the floating dock in the Bay

of Bengal near Andaman and Nicobar. Preparation of Hull Maintenance Schedule, Equipment List and

the Planned Preventive Maintenance system for hull and deck machineries; Relocating the

equipments; Renewal of entire fire-main system; scheduling of docking/ undocking and refit of

commercial as well as Indian Naval Ships and the Vessels; Dock preparation; Control Console for

Ballasting and De-ballasting.

Cradle Design for docking as per the Docking Plan/ available Ship’s drawings; Planning the

rearrangements of the blocks in liaison with concern authority in the cases of damaged bottoms;

Planning, designing and Preparing the shaped side blocks as per the Docking Plan; Controlling the

operations of forward and aft Winches and Capstan of the Floating Dock for the easy maneuvering

of the ships/ vessels during docking/ undocking; Controlling the list and trim of the Dock during the

ballasting/ de-ballasting; Docking/Undocking of ships vessels in Floating Dock, Maintenance of

Floating Dock/ Slip-way/ Synchro-lift including the lifting cranes; safe ballasting/ de-ballasting of

Floating Dock as per laid down/ calculated sequence. Design of steel sections as per the offset-

table or available ship’s drawings. Survey of ship’s hull and machineries; Planning and scheduling the

repairs to be carried out on to the docked ships/ vessels; Estimating and procuring the hull and

mechanical stores required for the repair and maintenance jobs.

Inspection of the fabrication and welding of hull and structures carried out by the Civil

Contractors; Co-ordination with various Govt/ semi Govt/ Private offices on the matters of

specifications. Inspection of steel surfaces after blasting (to SA1, SA2 & SA2.5); Inspection of

paints and the painting on ships and vessels; Supervision of repair & maintenance of painting

machines (Airless Spray), Hydro jet and accessories.Onboard ships (Oil Tankers, Offshore

Patrolling Vessel and Cadet Training Ships)

Job included: - Periodic Hull Survey and Inspection of superstructures, masts and deck fittings

such as Doors and Hatches; Maintenance of Capstan, Windlass, Winches, Deck cranes, davits,

derricks, hydraulic systems of bow door & ramps and other deck machineries; In charge of

Anchoring, Mooring, Hoisting and lowering of boats by use of davits, derricks, gantries and deck

cranes; Ensuring the repair of minor defects onboard such as renewal of corroded/ holed steel

bulkheads, structures, doors, hatches etc. to maintain the water tight integrity; Overseeing the

repair works which are tendered to the Civil Contractors; Issuing the work completed certificates

to the Contractors/ repair Organizations after the inspections as representative of Indian Naval

Head Quarters; Supervision of fabrication, erection and the welding of plates, sections and fittings

to the scantlings; Checking of edge preparations/ back gouging; Preparation of shop floor drawings
