The Hashemite Kingdom of JordanThe country borders Saudia Arabia to the east and south-east, Iraq to the north-east, Syria to the north and the West Bank and Israel to the west.The major characteristic of the climate is humid from November to March and semi dry weather for the rest of the year. the country has a Mediterranean- style climate.
On May 25, 1946 the United Nations approved the end of the British Mandate and recognized Jordan as an independent sovereign kingdom The recent education reforms started in the early 1990s.Just over 2.5% of Jordan's total population is enrolled at university.

The Jordan has witnessed political reform process since 1989, the state has stability elections and King Abdullah II succeeded his father Hussein following the latter's death in February 1999.
The official language is Arabic. English.
Islam is the predominant religion in Jordan, and it is the majority
religion among both Arabs and non-Arabs
approximately 92% of the population is Muslim by religion
Around 97 percent of Jordanians have more than one source of income with 26.7 percent having two incomes, 38 percent have three incomes, 22 percent have four incomes, and 10.6 have five sources of income or more, according to the Department of Statistics
2010/2011, Jordan has seen an increased demand for higher education with enrollments growing at an annual rate of 14 percent from 77,841 to 218,900students.

AHU seeks excellence in qualitative education, research and community service.
Mission: AHU is a Jordanian University and is keen to participate in the
national development by graduating highly qualified students and positively interacting with local communities and human culture within futuristic vision that concentrates on quality, excellence and current era necessities.

Establishment
Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (AHU) started its mission on April 28, 1999 per the Royal Decree that stated to establish a public higher education institution in Ma’an Governorate.

Jordan- Korea Information Access Center lunched in 1st Feb - 2011, during this period the center has acheived many Target Goals in Infomation Technology.

was established with support from the NIA (National Information Agency), Korean government, this center is designed to provide public services in the field of information technology, in order to reduce the digital divide in the local community.
Jordan-Korea IAC consists of three sections:The Internet lounge: contains a collection of computers aimed at linking the user with the Internet to access the requested information.
IT Education Room: contains of computers in addition to all the advanced educational requirements that will develop the educational process.
Video conferencing (Seminar Room): designed and fitted with a special camera designed to connect a group of individuals by sound and video to another group in order to set up meetings.

Using Center Lab’s by researcher and assistant researcher to accses information rapidly. (ca. 120 researcher).
Teaching Full Courses using center lab’s.
Using video conference from the university academy staff with other Jordanian universities since last February, aimed at giving (14) lectures and meetings from Jordan.
Taking advantage from Center by :
Removing IT literacy, by holding many Training courses in:-Video editing.- Web design.- Networks.

Suggestions on some areas that can be improved through NIA’s support

Provide Korean experts in the development of the Information Systems Through knowledge , training consulting services to establish a functional information system .
Provide hardware and equipment needed installation and training the Jordanian full time staff To run the system according to the budget.
Provide financial support to the local team who will implementation the project ,programming , system analysis, data collected and data entry.
We expected (NIA) to contribute in improvement development information through :

Korea-Jordan IT Cooperation:Developmental Information System for Ma'an Governate
The objective of the Korea-Jordan IT cooperation project is to establish a comprehensive developmental information system for the Ma'an Governate.

Expected outputExpected that the system information includes on (13) basic database in the following topics:-Database of population and demographic characteristics, economic and social development, for individuals and families (computing the results of the economic and social surveys carried out by the University).
Database of public institutions in the governorate and its role in the economic and social development.
Database of civil society institutions and civil work in the governorate include (charities, cooperatives, youth clubs, cultural organizations and volunteer work) and its role in the development process.

The total number of person receiving servises of the IAC in Information technology sinse lunched was (ca. 550 Trainees).
We are now at center starting new plan to accredit center by some of the world's centers interested in information technology such as Oracl and SISCO.
The center accredit by Microsoft Acadimy as national center for information technology since 4 monthes.
