WHAT IS “THE NETWORK”?
The mission of the African Health OER Network is to advance health education in Africa by using open educational resources (OER) developed by and targeted toward Africans in order to share knowledge, address curriculum gaps, and support communities around health education.

MOTIVATION FOR WORKSHOP
This intensive, in-person workshop will enable hands-on experimentation with software and audiovisual equipment, facilitate greater dialogue around policy issues such as copyright and privacy and how they differ across institutions and strengthen the sense of community among OER support staff in peers dispersed across Ghana. The workshop will be, with individuals from the University of Ghana, KNUST, and University of Michigan alternating as presenters and facilitators of the technical sessions.
FORMAT OF WORKSHOP
The workshop will be highly participatory, drawing on some facilitation principles from Bar Camp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BarCamp) and other unconference (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconference), revisiting and adapting the agenda as the workshop progresses.
OUTCOME OF WORKSHOP
The end product of this workshop will be a collection of instructional guides and video recordings of the workshop presentations to be shared with OER support staff and a plan for the next set of collaborative activities among OER support staff at the member institutions of the African Health OER Network.
