  • How will the ranks be assigned?

    www.motion.ac.inJEE Main 2019 (Jan)

    • Each slot of examination will have different percentiles, based on performance ofstudents in the slot.

    • Percentile will have 7 digits after decimal.

    • 2 Students from different slots can have same percentile.

    • To assign ranks, first the percentiles are compared. Higher percentile, higher rank.

    • To break the tie, percentile in Maths, Physics and Chemistry will compared in order.

    • If still a tie remains, then the candidate with higher age will be given a better rank.

  • How are the marks in January and April compared

    www.motion.ac.inJEE Main 2019 (Jan)

    • For the purpose of rank calculation, the eight slots of January and 8 slots of Aprilwill be considered.

    • If a candidate attempts in both the exams, the better of the two performance interms of percentile will be used for calculating the rank.

    • Calculation of better percentile will follow the same logic as was specified in theprevious slide.
