Honouring ten outstanding young people under the age of 40
who exemplify the spirit of the JCI Mission and provide
extraordinary service to their communities.
Providing young people the opportunity to develop the
leadership abilities, social responsibilities and fellowship
necessary to bring about positive changes.
Young men and women are nominated in one of ten
categories, then are selected by a panel of distinguished
judges.
What is TOYP?
1931: Developed by Durwood Howes, President of The United
States Junior Chamber of Commerce.
1938: Officially adopted by The United States Junior Chamber.
1952: Numerous JCI national organizations have established their
own Outstanding Young Persons Programs.
Since 1983, JCI has honored over 200 individuals from 47 nations.
Past recipients of national awards include such well known
personalities as Jackie Chan, John F. Kennedy, Gerald Ford,
Elvis Presley and many, many more.

JCI Nothing But Nets Join the Global Fight Against Malaria
• Every day, thousands die from malaria. We cannot
afford to wait to take action.
• As a Nothing But Nets partner of the United Nations
Foundation, JCI runs a campaign called JCI Nothing
But Nets campaign to fight malaria.
Send a net to save a life
JCI members will raise funds for one million bed nets by
2015 and educate children and their families in Africa
on the correct use of the nets.
