IRATA Rope Access
Neptune Marine Services is a leading provider of engineered solutions to the oil & gas, and marine & renewable energy industries. Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Neptune's presence spans operational centres located in Australia, UK, Middle East and Asia.
Since its inception, Neptune's Asset Integrity division has built a reputation for safety, quality, cost-effectiveness and innovation; working with clients to overcome difficult and demanding access situations through the provision of rope access, lightweight staging, semi-rigid platforms and tension netting techniques.
Rope access is a system utilising ropes and climbing equipment to access difficult to reach locations. The advantage of using rope access methods mainly lies in the safety and speed with which workers can get to or from difficult locations and then carry out their work, often with minimal impact on other operations.
Rope access is used by technicians doing disciplines as diverse as non-destructive testing, repair and maintenance on offshore oil and gas platforms to window cleaning city skyscrapers.
Falls from height are amongst the most common type of workplace fatalities. Safety when working at height is essential. The Industrial Rope Access Trade Association was formed in the UK in 1988 and is now recognised as the world's leading authority on industrial rope access.
The benefits of the IRATA International system are demonstrated by the very low levels of accidents reported by members. Neptune Asset Integrity Services is an IRATA full member company with accreditations as an operator and trainer.
Neptune Asset Integrity Services have dedicated training facilities in Perth, Melbourne and Darwin where training is conducted to all levels of the IRATA syllabus. Our training program is designed to equip candidates with the best level of skill and safety for work in onshore and offshore environments.
We have full time trainers with many years of experience working in rope access. All are IRATA level 3 or 3I qualified.
Assessments are carried out in accordance with IRATA procedures by an independent IRATA accredited assessor. The course has a heavy emphasis on practical skills and techniques. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights and be sufficiently physically fit and free from any disability that prevents them from working safely at height.
