• Performance – a new concept• The way in which the actors play their roles
and the way they interact with each other.• Can be made up of aspects like body
position, body language, movement, use of voice, delivery of dialogue, body posture, gestures etc

• Identifying how micro features ‘construct meanings and contribute to the sensory impact of film.’
• Reflecting on your individual response to micro features of films
• Exploring the relationship between the film and spectator
• Develop an awareness of how you as a spectator have an active role in film viewing
The Assessment• An analysis of a film extract – 1500 words• You are required to explore how one or more
micro elements construct meaning and provoke response in a film extract
• You are encouraged to support your work will illustrative visual material.
• You can choose any film BUT make it a good one
• The extract should be about 3-5 mins long
