Identify and describe how various types of electric circuits (i.e. series and parallel) provide a means of transferring and using electrical energy to produce heat, light, sound, as well as chemical changes.
Solve for the unknown in a linear equation related to electrical technology.

The Big Picture
Electricity is a natural force of nature.
It is a general term for the presence and flow of electrons making an electric charge.
Over the past 100 years people have harnessed this force and integrated it into a variety of electronic devices that have become the backbone of our society.

The technology of producing, storing, controlling,transmitting and getting work from electrical energy.
Electrical Technology
The technology of using small amounts of electricity for controlling, detecting,collecting, storing, retrievingand processing information

Thermostat, Computer,Cell Phone, Digital Watch, etc.

Circuitry
An Electronic Circuit consist of a path for electrons to flow from an energy source.
The Amount of Electron Flow depends on the resistance in the circuit.
More Resistance = Less Flow.
If there are no components in a circuit except a battery it causes a short circuit which drains the charge quickly.

Tri-force (Voltage, Current, Resistance)
Voltage (Volts) Equation: V• The electrical force that moves electrons through a conductor. • Voltage is electrical pressure also known as
EMF (Electro Motive Force) that pushes electrons.
Current (Amps / Amperes) Equation: I • The flow rate of electrons moving past a point within one second.
Higher Voltage = Higher Current• Current flow is also known as amperage, or amps for short.
Resistance ( Ohms / Ω ) Equation: R• The force that reduces or stops the flow of electrons. • It opposes voltage. More Resistance = Less Current.

Ohm’s Law
Ohm suggested that if you double the Voltage across something that provides resistance, then the current would double.

Each component has the same current. If two components are identical voltage is divided equally.
