Rapport exists when two or more individuals are "in sync." They think in similar ways. They are
good matches. Rapport is important in both our professional and personal lives. It is the
foundation of the strongest relationships. Trust is easy when rapport exists. Employers are
more likely to hire you if they believe you will have rapport with other staff.
The first task in any interpersonal relationship is to build rapport. We create and maintain
rapport subconsciously. Non-verbal signals such as body movements, eye contact, facial
expressions, and tone of voice can build rapport. Try these methods to enhance your rapport:
What does “rapport” have to do with communication?

On Wednesday, February 14, 2018, Forest Park High School
hosted its 2nd Annual College Fair sponsored by
Communities in Schools Atlanta. According to Mr. Quintin
Avery, CIS Coordinator at Forest Park High School, we
experienced a 60% increase in participation this year!
Students were instantly accepted and given scholarships to
schools such as Morehouse College, Texas A&M, Kennesaw
State University and Clayton State University. Not only did
we have participation from colleges and universities, the US
Army and US National Guard participated as well. This was
a great opportunity for students to explore post-secondary
educational options and CIS is always happy to assist!
Great job students!
