South Laurel High School choir presents the Broadway musical “The Wizard of Oz” beginning with a 3 p.m. performance Sunday, March 25 and continuing March 27, March 30 and March 31 at 7 p.m. and at 3 p.m.

The Mountain Laurel Quilters participated in the Laurel County Public Library Quilters Day Out on March 10. There were demonstrations throughout the day on hand quilting and English Paper Piecing, along with discussions on other quilting techniques. A drawing was held for four Jim Shore Christmas ornaments from MLQ and the winners were, left to right, Goldie Blanton and Beatrice Gregory, both of London, standing, Sydney Luker, of East Bernstadt, and, not pictured, Julia Gilley, of Bonnyman. Tickets were available for the 2012 raffl e quilt, to be given away at A Quilt Gathering on October 19, at the Laurel-Londons Optimist Club Sports Center. The quilt is a traditional design made with 1930’s reproduction fabrics. Tickets can be purchased from any club member.
