AccommodationStudy Visa – A study visa will likely be required to study in Italy,for any length of time. This type of visa allows entry for a short visit(not exceeding 90 days) or a long visit of fixed duration (notexceeding 365 days) to applicants intending to enrol at Italianuniversities, attend courses or carry out research or cultural activitieson an occasional or permanent nature.
The University of Rome “Tor Vergata” has a University residenceinside the Campus, where foreign students can apply for a room inapartments. Residence permit for study – According to the Italian Lawin force International students who wish to apply at Italian Universities have to apply for a special resident permit for study
reasons. Applicants have to submit at Poste Italiane “SportelloAmico” the following documents:- the application form drawn up and signed- a copy of all pages of the passport or other equivalent document; - a copy of the Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata admission
letter stating the course of study the applicant is going to attend,with the stamp of the Italian Consulate, used for the study-visapurpose;
- a copy of the medical insurance policy valid within the term of theresidence permit.

In the University campus students can play volleyball, tennis andfive-a-side football. Swimming pools, gyms and wellness centerare available in the area.
The Italian University system is divided in three cycles:- the first cycle (Laurea - LA) takes 3 years for a total of 180 ECTS.
It leads to a Bachelor of Science equivalent degree;- the second cycle (Laurea Specialistica / Laurea Magistrale - LS)
takes 2 years for a total of 120 ECTS. It leads to a Masters ofScience equivalent degree;
- the third cycle (Dottorato or Perfezionamento) takes 3 years fora total of 180 ECTS. It leads to a PhD equivalent.
