How The Alphabet was Made
By: Abby Fields
Once upon a time, there was a small town called Geneva. The people in this town knew how to speak with words, but they
didn’t know how to read or write. This made the townspeople of Geneva very sad!
Then one day a man named Alpha had an idea he would make a bunch of symbols to write with!
Alpha hurried home to start to get to work on his new idea.
Alpha worked for many days and many nights. Then, on the fifth day Hector’s symbols were finished!
“We are the letters!”, Alpha’s symbols exclaimed, “You have created us to help and that is what we wish to do!
Alpha spent all night picking sounds for each letter. He picked sounds for the letters so that when put together with other
letters they made a word.
Alpha was getting ready to show the letter to the townspeople when suddenly he realized he had a big problem. “I don’t
know what to call you all”, he cried.
“Oh Mr. Alpha we bet you will come up with something!”, The letters said comfortingly. “Alpha-bet hmmm. That’s it I will
call you the Alphabet!” Yelled Alpha.
“Alright Alphabet hop into your lines we are going to show you to the townspeople”, said Alpha happily.
When the townspeople saw the Alphabet and learned what the little letters were for, they were so happy. They threw a
huge party, and Alpha was now the town’s hero.
And that is how the Alphabet was made. The End
