Home Remodeling Budgets - San Diego Home Improvement

When you start interviewing contractors for your home remodel you may be asked for a budget. Ofcourse it is up to you if you provide it.

You should be more afraid of contractors that do not ask for a budget goal. I am not hesitant to askfor a range from low to high, and typically it is my experience that homeowner's budgets arerealistic.

As a design and remodeling contractor for over 30 years, I would prefer to have a budget target. Isee it as a win, win for both parties. I realize as a consumer you may be afraid that the contractorwill try to maximize your spending. As a contractor, I explain to my clients that giving me a budgetwill help you get the most value for your spending.

I would also caution that choosing a contractor based on budget is a recipe for trouble. Odds are thelikelihood of a lower priced contractor finishing within budget are extremely low and the quality ofwork will be a bad value.

The old adage, "you get what you pay for" is as evident as ever when it comes to home remodeling.Getting a fair price is important, but quality, value, timeliness and warranty are major considerationwhen you choose a home remodeling firm.

Happy Remodeling!
