The Department of Asian &Middle Eastern Studies offers

Elementary, Intermediate,Advanced, and topical courses inHindi-Urdu, as well as a number

of courses on South Asianliterature and culture taught in

English. Students may use Hindi-Urdu to complete their foreign

language requirement; coursesin South Asian literature and

culture may fulfill GeneralEducation requirements.Students with speaking

proficiency can take a one-creditcourse to learn the Hindi or Urdu

writing system.
