I really love this time of year – brisk mornings turning into perfect days! It doesn’t get much better than this. Coming home with this newsletter is a “cheque book” for you to use for your absence notes. All that is re-quired is to give us a reason and sign it off and the job is done. It is important that we receive these when children arrive late in the morning, so perhaps it may be useful to leave it in the car. I hope that these will help to ease some of the morning madness that oc-curs in lots of homes (mine included!). Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Stage 3 Spelling Bee last Friday. An extra well done to Alice Kennewell and Charlie Boyes who will repre-sent our school in the Regional Final. This Friday is the Stage 2 final commencing at our assembly at 11:50am. Hope to see you there. This Thursday is our Book Week Parade. Come dressed up as your favourite book character and join in the fun. There are always lots of great and imagina-tive costumes and this year will be no different. Bruce Coote Principal
P & C Meeting Our next P&C Meeting will be Tuesday 3rd Septem-ber at 7pm in the school staffroom. All welcome.
Canteen Meeting Our next Canteen Meeting will be Tuesday 3rd Sep-tember at 9:30am in the school staffroom. All wel-come
Charity Showcase last Friday night A huge ‘thank you’ to our students who participated in the Charity Showcase on Friday evening. Once again it was a high level performance and we couldn’t have done it without your cooperation. A spe-cial thank you to Mr Bourke and Mr Kellahan. Sasha Cairns Choir coordinator

In our school garden we grew garlic, spring onions and chives.
It felt grubby and dirty and messy. We don’t want weeds,
grubs or snails in our garden. We’re growing healthy vegeta-
bles but the chives didn’t grow very well.
Violet 1/2R
The school garden has some good vegetables
growing. We water the plants so that they can
grow.
Kyle 1/2R
Our garden has garlic also the garden has chives but
the chives didn’t survive. When we planted the
chives it felt messy and awkward.
James
My class and me grow a vegetable
garden. We grow garlic and chives. When
we grow the vegetables I felt like I was at
home helping my mum gardening plants
like flowers and I didn’t like the smell of
the garlic.
