In 1971, the American author Robert Temple published a controversial book entitled The Sirius Mysterywhere he claimed that the Dogons (an ancient African tribe from Mali) knew details about Sirius that wouldbe impossible to be know without the use of telescopes. According to him, the Dogon understood the binarynature of Sirius, which is, in fact, composed of two stars named Sirius A and Sirius B. This lead RobertTemple to believe that the Dogons had “direct” connections with beings from Sirius. While some might say“you can’t be Sirius” (sorry), a great number of secret societies (who have historically held within theirranks some of the world’s most influential people) and belief systems teach about a mystic connectionbetween Sirius and humanity.

In Dogon mythology, humanity is said to be born from the Nommo, a race of amphibians who wereinhabitants of a planet circling Sirius. They are said to have “descended from the sky in a vessel accompaniedby fire and thunder” and imparted to humans profound knowledge. This lead Robert Temple to theorize thatthe Nommos were extraterrestrial inhabitants of Sirius who travelled to earth at some point in the distant pastto teach ancient civilizations (such as the Egyptians and Dogons) about the Sirius star system as well as ourown solar system. Is Thoth-Hermes-Trismegistus the equivalent of the Dogon’s Nommos, who are believed to originate fromSirius? Ancient texts concerning Hermes describe him as a teacher of mysteries who “came from the stars”.Furthermore, Thoth-Hermes was directly connected with Sirius in Egyptian mythology.

The Masonic author William Hutchinson wrote about Sirius: “It isthe first and most exalted object that demands our attention in the Lodge.” The same way the light of Siriusmade its way into the Great Pyramid during initiations, it is symbolically present in Masonic lodges.

Helena Blavatsky and Alice Bailey, the two main figures associated with Theosophy, have both consideredSirius to be a source esoteric power. Blavatsky stated that the star Sirius exerts a mystic and direct influenceover the entire living heaven and is linked with every great religion of antiquity.

Alice Bailey sees the Dog Star as the true “Great White Lodge” and believes it to be the home of the “SpiritualHierarchy”. For this reason she considers Sirius as the “star of initiation”.

“This is the great star of initiation because our Hierarchy (an expression of the second

aspect of divinity) is under the supervision or spiritual magnetic control of the Hierarchy

of Sirius. These are the major controlling influences whereby the cosmic Christ works

upon the Christ principle in the solar system, in the planet, in man and in the lower

Not unlike most many esoteric writers, Bailey considers Sirius to have a great impact on human life.

“All that can be done here in dealing with this profound subject is to enumerate briefly

some of the cosmic influences which definitely affect our earth, and produce results in

the consciousness of men everywhere, and which, during the process of initiation, bring

about certain specific phenomena.

First and foremost is the energy or force emanating from the sun Sirius. If it might be

so expressed, the energy of thought, or mind force, in its totality, reaches the solar

system from a distant cosmic centre via Sirius. Sirius acts as the transmitter, or the

focalising centre, whence emanate those influences which produce self-consciousness in

man.”

In 1907, Crowley started his own occult order called the A.A. – short for Argentium Astrum, which can betranslated to ‘The Order of the Silver Star’. The ‘Silver Star’ was, of course, a reference to Sirius. Even ifCrowley almost always referred to the dog star in veiled terms, the whole of his magickal philosophy, fromhis development as a young Freemason through to his final years as the Head of the O.T.O, is wholly inaccordance with the Sirian influence, which was identified and expressed by other writers of his era. Hisalleged contact with his Holy Guardian Angel that later led to the channelling of ‘Liber AL: The Book of theLaw’ is believed to have originated from Sirius.

If Crowley used code words to describe Sirius, his protégé Kenneth Grant has explicitly and extensivelywritten about the dog star. Throughout his numerous books, he often described Sirius as being a powerfulcenter of magickal magnetic power. His belief that the star holds the central key to unlocking the mysteriesof the Egyptian and Typhonian traditions has strengthened over time and became a central focus of hisresearch. One of Grant’s most important and controversial thesis was his discovery of the “Sirius/Setcurrent”, which is an extra-terrestrial dimension connecting Sirius, the Earth and Set, the Eyptian god of

Chaos – who was later associated with Satan.

“Set is the initiator, the Opener of mans’ consciousness to the rays of the Undying God

typified by Sirius – the Sun in the South.”

“Sirius, or Set, was the original “headless one” – the light of the lower region (the

south) who was known (in Egypt) as An (the dog), hence Set-An (Satan), Lord of the

infernal regions, the place of heat, later interpreted in a moral sense as “hell”.”

Direct references to Sirius in popular culture are too many to enumerate (e.g. see the name and the logo ofthe most important satellite radio in the world). In Harry Potter, the character named SiriusBlack is most likely a reference to Sirius B. (the“darker” star of Sirius’ binary system). He isHarry Potter’s godfather, which makes Sirius,once again, a teacher and a guide. The wizardcan turn into a big black dog, another link withthe “dog star”.

Why authors choose to assassinate their own works and credibility in this way baffles

me. It is very obvious to someone applying logic for just a minute that male/female not

only fits in perfectly (with every other damn duality in our universe) and that in the case

of male/female they are clearly INTENDED to fit together. Had such an author been able

to provide a mechanism for homosexual conception… then maybe I could take an idea

like that seriously.

In all fairness… in some cases I have seen, it is only one or two misconceptions mixed in

with a lot of truth. Nobody gets EVERYTHING right, right? It is the worst, however,

when the faulty premise is an integral part of the overall theory.

That “like attracts like” thing is BS anyway. It is true only in a limited sense. What about

magnetism? What happens when the positive polarity of a magnet is moved toward the

positive polarity of another magnet? Surely they don’t attract each other.

The Sphinx is aligned with the constellation of Leo in 10.500 BC, at this time Egypt was not a desert

but a fertile region with regular rainfall and the evidence is found in the vertical grooves created by

run off water on the Sphinx still seen today. The head of the Sphinx is disproportionate to the body,

it is possible that khufu (Cheops) carved the face on the already existing Sphinx.

read many varied claims. Some are outright ridiculous and others are up for debate, but the one that

stuck most and comes from people I vibe with, the sphinx is a lion and was built in the age of Leo,

with the headwork done at a later time (that’s why it is so small in comparison to the body.) The

idea was simply that many ancient artifacts are in line with astro-theological views of the heavens,

and then as the one ‘true’ religion was destroyed by misinterpretations of stories, symbols and

more recently texts…. ‘gods’ or pharoahs became the focus of worship. Basically, when you

account for the position of the stars over the years, you’d find that the Great Pyramid (which is a

temple relating to the human skull i.e. pineal, pituitary, thalamus etc.) and it’s alignment for the

King’s and Queen’s chamber with the star system’s happened during the age of Leo – pointing to

their age and use…

So, basically the Lion’s head was re-worked to ‘disguise’ the real symbology and infer power to an

individual king over the people, rather than people recognizing their true place in the universe.

wearing “Dog” collars. I once heard that our word “Sir” comes from SIRius.

The Egyptians never called Sirius, Sirius as that was taken from the Greek word Serios. The Egyptians

called Sirius “Sopdet”.

There is a “channeled” source on the net from a certain Mike Quinsey who channels a group soul by the

name of Salusa from Sirius. If Salusa through Mike is to be believed then yes our creation is very much

connected to Sirius.

rediscoveries of older philosophical thoughts…they’re found in ancient texts a lot older

than the bible…and before you start claiming the bible or any related text as the be all

end all…it might be nice to cross reference the stories in there with other cultures….and

cross reference the rituals in the Judeo-Christian tradition (this includes Islam) with

others…particular what are known as “pagan” rituals and beliefs.

This is actually kind of an ignorant comment. There are *some* (very few) people

who claim to have the bible memorized. But they’re out there.

Further, there is a Jewish tradition of learning the torah (being able to recite it…

actually, they kind of sing it) as the torah was originally an oral tradition. So at

least the old testament would be pretty easily recoverable.

If you studied your bible and biblical history you’d know that that verse is removed from

most modern editions as it is a provable late addition…. in fact there is no explicit reference

whatsoever to the trinity in the bible.

Jesus taught that there is ONE God and we should submit (i.e. worship) him only… If you

thanks for clarifying that because I really struggle with the fact that Christians think the

only way to God is through His one and only son Jesus Christ. Which is basically

telling me I can’t connect directly with God, but I must go through his one and only

Son….yeah that just doesn’t sit right with me .

There is only one God, correct?, and he sends his messengers everywhere, not only to

The Jesus of Islam is not the same Jesus as Jesus Christ, of Nazareth. The Muslim

Jesus was born under a tree, among many other inconsistencies. The Muslim

Jesus never died but ascended to heaven as if ordinary prophets (as Jesus is seen

by Muslims) could travel freely back and forth to heaven; the only being who can

go to heaven without help is Jesus. The whole point of Jesus’ life was to die for

our sins. The Jesus of Islam would never die for us. There are plenty of videos on

I’m glad VC pointed out the harry potter and pinocchio connections, never seen the truman show tho.

Another interesting point, according to riddles in stone, is that the declaration of independence was

signed on the fourth of july 1776 because, on that day, sirius would have been seen rising in the eastern

d.c. Skyline. So not only do the monument and capitol represent the star, but the very creation of this

me, as I didn’t really understand this obelisk and dome-obsession of the elite before, but now it all makes

sense.

I only have one small amendment: when you name the great teachers of ancient civilizations, you include

Enoch as a divine person who came from the stars. To the best of my knowledge, Enoch was a human

being, a flesh-and-blood normal man, who has been obeying God all his life, and did not die (yet) here on

earth, but has been taken up to the heavens, and is going to be sent back as a human being again during

the end-times, to testify about God’s judgment. He is not a deity-like creature, he is a mere human who is

going to die once, just like everyone else. Just wanted to make it clear.

in order to be with *the gods* or *extra-terrestrial beings* you must enter a more spiritual or non

physical state. You have to leave your body as our bodies are physical containers holding our

I always like to read your articles, it’s good to know that someone else notices all this as well. I’m not

closely. There is good info there as well. So if I may, though I’m still researching some of this, from a

Christian perspective. Just what I think, and we all know how that goes.

Before the days of Noah, they were far more advanced than we know, more advanced than we are now.

demanded blood sacrifice of children. It would have been considered very humiliating to crucify the

The “sun behind the sun” is an intriguing view. I’m not so sure about the dog-star being the true

spiritual light behind our Sun which sustains a physical existence. This may not be the case specifically.

The idea rings true to me, but I see ‘our’ Sun as what I call a ‘cloak’ which has superimposed the true

spiritual light. Here’s an excerpt from a book I’m writing:

I appreciate your article, and how thoroughly you explain everything. However, I do find a disconnect

from your explanation of the tarot, to the explanation given by Freemasonry. In the Tarot, you say that

Sirius is signified by the eight pointed star, however the Star in the middle of the checkered floor of the

Masonic Temple is a Ten Point Star, or more specifically, two five pointed stars inverted upon each other.

This may represent the Positive and Negative aspects of things, but I find it hard to connect it directly to

Sirius, especially given the Tarot description given in the paragraph above the Freemason Description.

Also given Freemason’s Heavy reliance on the Inverted Five Pointed Star, I would lean more towards an

alternate explanation than the one you offer. Maybe that’s even the explanation given by the

Freemasons, but I doubt Sirius is the true significance of that symbol. Keep doing what you’re doing!!!

Sirius conjuncts the Sun on July 4 every year.

The U.S. wasn’t actually founded on July 4 (much debate over the date)

but July 4 was chosen….for esoteric/symbolic reasons perhaps?

The U.S. has a special role to play in the NWO, thus I have heard.

There is a justified belief that the Sirius Star Systm is in a binary movement with our solar system that

leads to the thesis that this star in comparison to the stars that were meant to look out of the other shafts

of the great pyramid is still visible today through the queens chamber. The dog star is the companion

that is callibrating human behaviour forever – hopefully. Besides this it is said that neaby – out of the

area of sagittarius is a source of radiation that promotes the generation of human DNA.

Fallowing a severe blow emotionally, leaving a loved on, my financial life ruined, I came to understanding

that I have been living a completely useless life. I however did not know who to trust, my emotions said

one, by body said another, my mind said something else. I was a average person, maybe even above

average, I was pretty successful, had many gifts, but I was always living a lie. I knew Christianity, I grew

up with it, but I abandoned it. It was by random events (at least then I though it was random) that I came

into contact about coming into higher consciousness, this I wanted stronger than anything else, to end

my suffering, pain, and misery, because I could no longer live a meaningless life that I was not fully sure

for whose sake I’m living, and I was not going to continue in that meaningless journey… Long story

short, I was in my mid twenties, I left everything, my old way of living, my relationships, started

practicing vegetarianism, and began reading: The 4th Way, by P.D. Ouspensky concerning the teaching

of G.I. Gurjief. In that system, it gives instructions of how to develop a new way of thinking, to create a

higher mind so to say. I spent about 9 month reading that book and rigorously applying its applications

and studying my emotions, psychological patterns, etc. As I began to change, I though I went crazy,

because the change was so significant, that I though I lost it, so I began to ask everybody and anybody

if they knew what I was talking about, a feeling like you broke out of an egg shell, a wonderful feeling.

However it seemed that wasn’t enough, and I was seeking a affirmation from the universe, so I

continuously practiced a form of observation/mediation,(non attachment) you do it with you eyes open,

you look around, and try to see everything as though you’ve never seen it before (apparently because

we usually see with our memory rather than true vision). One night, I came back from a party, I was in

high spirits, I felt pretty good, went back to my balcony and began this mediation practice, all of a

sudden a came into a trans like state, the highest I’ve been in, everything around me became more still, I

began to recognize things in two different categories, living and non living. As I continued to look at my

backyard, I noticed how disgusting our buildings are, how stupid our creation is compared to gods

creation-the living, the trees the sky was so much more beautiful. So I began to look at the sky, I started

to look at one and slowly began to enlarge and started getting bigger and bigger, from merely a little star I

was able to see it as big as our moon. I then began to look at another star, the brighter one (though I did

not know it was Sirius), and again, slowly I was able to zoom in until I saw it in such detail, where I could

distinguish that in fact the dwarf was blocking the true light was was situated behind illuminating the

light and creating spears around it, I could also see the cosmic dust clouds around it. As my attention

increased to this phenomenon my heart rate started racing and suddenly a streak of light hit my chest

cavity and kind threw me against my sliding door. By that time, I felled like I had all the necessary proof

that I was not crazy. The experience, at least internally, was this: that light that hit my chest cavity, or

solar plexus, it said it said to me: you are made of the same matter, you are connected. I know all New-age

theories speak of being one, but this was a feeling like no other in my life. That has been a turning point

as well. I no longer do work that society has made us do, and I wish to share a message of the evil our

money system is creating, specifically usury. I came back on my table and drew a diagram of the star I

seen and described what I seen, and it was only doing more research that I realized it was Sirius,

obviously I was shocked considering I saw with my naked eye what a huble telescope cannot see.

Some more relevant information might be interesting.I was also born into year of the dog, 1982. And

interestingly, I will be exactly 30 on 12/12/12.

I rarely share this with anybody, but I could not resist after reading this blog. I wish I had more

I disagree. The central star would be a black star ie. a black hole which creates the vector and the

‘point charge’ for the motion of our star cluster. And if you want to talk about a Supreme Entity

then why not the center of our galaxy the Milky Way? Not to demean the stars but a galaxy would

be a VIP in my book.

A bit more about the Dogon Tribe and its relashionship with the Dog Star would be interesting. I believe

the Dogon’s claim the Dog Star was their originating point. But, I may have that line of the history

skewed a bit. Good report.
