State Clean Diesel Campaign
• Promote clean air strategies to reduce diesel emissions with– manufacturers, – fleet operators, – air quality professionals, – environmental and community organizations, – and state and local officials
Why Clean Diesel
• Energy security– Reduce imported oil
• Economic benefits– Better mpg, cheaper fuel, American business
• Health benefits– Asthma, allergies, cancer and lung disease reduced:
• Lower levels of particulate matter, carcinogens, toxins, nitrogen oxides than traditional diesel
• Environmental benefits– Emissions damage plants, animals, crops, and water
resources.– Climate change

Estimated $180,000 for Hybrid Vehicles• Matching funding bonus• For diesel vehicles, GVWR must be 16,001 lbs +• Older than 2004 • Replacements must be scrapped• Vehicle cannot be scheduled to be replaced
