People Extraordinaire
Fellow HHYC Members,
It seems my year as Commodore is coming to an end. I have enjoyed the privilege of serving and hope you have all had as great a time attending events as much as Sue and I have. I’d like to give a big thanks to all who hosted this year. As always, the club couldn’t exist without all of us working together as a team. I believe that everyone who was able to attend the Pay Your Dues Party had a wonderful time, despite the stormy weather. It is always a real treat to see so many members who are not able to make many of the other events, at this one. The venue at Seattle Yacht Club was great. They put on a wonderful dinner for us and many of us also enjoyed dancing to the DJ who the Warner’s booked for the event. The auction was also a huge success, thanks to
the hard work put out by Tom, Vic and P/C Paul. Because of the success of the auction, the event pretty much broke even. We will discuss what we feel the club can donate to charity at our next meeting on December 8th at the Eastlake Bar and Grill. Speaking of our next meeting, I will be providing appetizers for everyone, to say “thank you” for making my year so easy with all your help. This may be our last meeting at Eastlake Bar and Grill because it has become too expensive for us to continue there. Mary Scott, our upcoming Commodore has arranged for the meetings in January, February and March to be held at Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria – 4411 Stone Way N. in Fremont. Hope to see ALL of you on January 12th.
The Commodore’s Ball will take place at the Hotel Decca on Saturday, January 16th. This is always a great event that only HHYC can truly pull off. This year, Sue & I are sharing the penthouse with James & Julie Life. The motivation for this is so we can host an after party for the members and not disturb other quests at the hotel. At least this is our hope! James and Julie will give you details on booking your room at the Decca, if you wish to stay, and what our special rates are. Just make sure you mention that you are with HHYC when you call! This event is always a favorite. Once again, I’d like to express my gratitude for giving me the honor of being Commodore in 2015.
