Olive oil hair treatment not only benefitsthe hair but also results in the scalp becom-ing cleaner. Olive oil hair conditioning isapt for curly or very dry hair as it tends tosmoothen out frizzy and dry hair but doesnot leave any build up which is found inother hair conditioning treatments. Hence, plenty of people even use olive oil as aserum to tame frizzy hair.

JAT Holdings, set up over 20 years ago with the primaryobjective of providing only the best brands to the furnish-ing and finishing industry in the sub-continent, invited

prospective customers to their classy Herman Miller show-room, on Havelock Road, in Colombo, to experience the rangeof designer products, first hand.

Man-about-town, Trevine Rodrigo, from the Lanka Times Melbourne, checked out the 60th birthday celebrations of Ruwanal Senewiratneand sent us the following:

Ruwanal Senewiratne made sure that he had the cream of Sri Lanka’sMelbourne community around him to celebrate his milestone 60th birthdaybash, despite it being held on a night when several other top Sri Lankan func-tions were also taking place.

Rajitha Rupesinghe and his fantastic set up, Misty, from Sri Lanka, wereplaying to a sell-out crowd, just minutes away, at Springvale Town Hall, for theLions Club event. But this did little to deter people from shuttling from onevenue to the other, mainly due to Ruwanal’spopularity and reputation as a top chef andparty animal in the Melbourne entertain-ment scene.

Ruwanal’s party drew over 200 friends andfamily - some travelling from overseas just tobe there to grace the important occasion.

Part of the night’s entertainment wasthe two-piece combo of Chris Mant andCameron Colombege, from Replay 6, whogenerally teame up and perform whenthe band is inactive.

The duo kept the crowd on their feetwith some wonderful music and the infu-sion of guest artiste, legendary DesmondDe Silva, later in the night, really hottedthings up.

Live entertainment was interspersedby music provided by very popular DJAshley, who has been a livewire in theMelbourne entertainment scene for anumber of years.

Ruwanal’s wife, Philomena, left nostone unturned to make the night com-plete by hiring a Papare band, appar-

ently a feature close toRuwanal’s heart, to makethe night’s entertainmentcomplete.

Popular Chef RizaMuthaliph and his East-West catering groupprovided a sumptuousmeal for the night.

Ican’t recollect a Sing-Along event ever beingsold out, long before the scheduled date.

Perhaps, there would have been a few occa-sions where, just a day or two, before action time, one would have seen the ‘sold out’ board.

But, two weeks in advance! Well, that’s thescene where The Island/Sunday Island-sponsoredSing-Along event, organized by Rhythm WorldDance Studio, is concerned.

This much-talked-about event takes place onSunday, June 15th, 2014, but tickets were snappedup a week ago. And folks stillkeep calling Shiromi Perera, theDirectress of Rhythm WorldDance Studio, indicating theireagerness to be a part of thisscene.

“I’m glad that my events arecrowd-pullers,” said Shiromi, adding that she has plans tooblige those who missed out ongetting tickets for the June 15thevent.

“Sohan & The X-Periments willbe leaving for Australia thismonth and, I believe, they wouldbe away for over a month.

“On their return, I will see if

Sohan can spare me a date for another Sing-Along.”What makes the Rhythm World Dance Studio

events very successful is because of the ability ofthe organizing committee, and the students, to cre-ate exiting evenings, and to come up with novelideas.

Sohan says he has already mapped out his strate-gy for June 15th and he wants the ticket holders tocome prepared to show their singing talents.

“Whatever your style of singing is, just let yourvoice be heard,” says Sohan.

There will also be a session for dance enthusi-asts, and it’s at this point that you would get to seethe talented students of Rhythm World DanceStudio in action.

I have seen them do it on the dance floor and Iknow, for sure, they will mesmerize you with their

rhythm, style and movement.Ok, the scene is set for Sunday, June 15th, 2014, at

The Grand Monarch Hotel, 527/7, Pannipitiya Road,Thalawathugoda, from 6.30 pm onwards.

Remember, your ticket includes entrance, song book, food and drink. And of course The Island/Sunday Island will be there, as media spon-

sors. So keep that smile on ‘cos, who knows, you may see yourself in thepapers…after a memorable evening of fun and excitement!
