Haiku
What is a haiku?
• Short Japanese poetic form
• 3 lines of five, seven, and five syllables in the original
Japanese
• Kigo= a seasonal word such as “snow” or “cherry
blossoms” that indicates the time of year being
described.
A Contrast
• Most haiku present a comparison or
contrast of two images, actions, or states of
being.
