Generousownersthrowopentheirgatestoletusflockin,soabigthankyoutoeveryoneofthem.Gardenshaveopenedforourcharitysinceouroldestadulthospicewasconceivedinthelate1970s.MountEdgcumbeisthelegacyofaremarkablewoman,EnidDalton-WhiteMBE,whosecampaigntoraisethefundsneededtobuildthehospicestartedwithheropeningupherowngardeninthevillageofPolruan.TodayCornwall’sgardenershelpustokeepEnid’sdreamaliveandinthelastsixyearshaveraisedmorethan£62,000!Gardensaremyfavouritethings,butmyfavouritepeoplearethestaffandvolunteersatMountEdgcumbeandStJulia’shospiceswhogothatextramileforpatientsandtheirfamilies.Itcostsmorethan£5milliontoprovidethespecialistcaregivenbyCornwallHospiceCarestaffinthehospices,inCornwall’sacutehospitalandinthecommunity.Thelovelygardengemsincludedinthisbrochureofferasimple,pleasurablewaytohelpbringinthosefunds.Idohopeyouwillbeabletovisitsomeofthegardensfeaturedinthisguideandthattheywillbecomesomeofyourfavouriteplaces.TogetherwecanthenmakeadifferencetothosefamiliesinCornwallwhoarecopingwithterminalillnesses.George the Gardener
