Grosse Pointe Crisis ClubNewsletterCelebrating 63 Years of Helping Those in Need
Volume 53 March/April 2019 Number 2
From The PresidentAs spring approaches, so does our biggest evening of the year. The 26th Annual Spring Sports Night will be on Monday April 8, 2019 – the night of the 2019 National College Basketball Championship Game. This year we will be moving to a new venue at THE VINTAGE HOUSE located at 31816 Utica Rd. in Fraser. The VINTAGE HOUSE is located just south of Masonic (13 ½ Mile Rd.) on the east side of Utica Rd. But don’t worry, we have a great Committee for the event lead by Steve Graus, Robert Goddard and Walter Heck.
This event is an excellent opportunity to bring your friends, family and co-workers out for a great night of fun and food. You can show your guests what our Club is all about and encourage them to join. We are always looking for donations, like sporting event tickets, gift cards, certificates for golf outings, or unique items to add to our raffles and silent auction.
I would like to challenge all of our Club Members to bring at least one (1) new person to Spring Sports Night. It helps us get the word out about what a fantastic event we put on, as well as helping us raise more money for our “Crisis Cases”. Feel free to contact Steve ([email protected]) or Bob ([email protected]) with any ideas or suggestions you have that could help us.
I look forward to seeing everyone at Spring Sports Night.

After Word War ll, where Bruce served in the Navy, he joined the Detroit Police Department where he worked for 20 years, rising to Detective Inspector and “Chief” of all Detectives where he was selected for the FBI National Academy. In 1977 Mr. Kennedy became the first Grosse Pointe Public Safety Director and under his watch of more than 25 years successfully merged the Police and Fire Departments. Bruce was an excellent handball player winning a multitude of local, state and national championships. Bruce and his lovely wife Italia of 67 years raised a daughter and three sons. Rest in peace Bruce

Kroger has assigned the Club a new Rewards number. If you sign up, use the new Rewards number of AC852. POTENTIAL ADVERTISERSDear Members and Friends:
In order to continue to furnish the Membership and the present Advertisers with our wonderfully communicative Newsletters, we need to add MANY NEW ads to be able to absorb our every increasing costs. We need more of the Regular $300 ads and Double Size $400 ads. Our Membership is increasing, and their Companies can be added and the pages increased.
We continue to seek advertisers, and can increase our advertising space to accommodate new advertisers. Our hope is that you, our Members and supporters, consider promoting your company or service in a Crisis Club advertisement opportunity.
Below are rate and size specifications for the best advertising buys to be found. If we can add a page or two of advertising, we can keep our rates at these extremely competitive levels. Non-members are welcome at a slightly higher cost (unless they care to become a Member at the $100.00 application fee, which includes their first year’s dues).
Please call me or email me with your interest or any questions and thank you for considering the Grosse Pointe Crisis Club in your marketing efforts. We will prepare your ad at no cost.
