Guidelines for Online Registration - Admission 2019'2O2O
ln order to ensure uniformity and to regulate the admission procedure in Sikkim Government College,
Human Resource Development Department (Directorate of Higher Education) Hereby notifies the
FollowinB BUidelines
Registration of Candidates in Sikkim Government College(s) shall be done centrally
through Online Mode. The Candidates can log in to www sgcregistration.com or through
RUSA SIKKIM ADMISSION Mobile Application which can be downloaded from iOS and
Android Platform.
II. INTAKE CAPACITY:
a. Following shall be college wise lntake Capacity for the Academic Session 2019 -20.
b. For Sanskrit College, Samdong; B.Ed College, Soreng; Sikkim lnstitute of Higher
Nyingma Studies (5HEDA) Pangthang the Admission Dates and lntake Capacity
shall be updated in www.secres istrat ion. co m at the time of admission

,. The Admission to all the Government Colleges will be given as per the intake capacity mentioned
a bove.
2. A central online committee at the Directorate of Higher Education, including representative from
respective colleges will be constituted for monitoring, supervision and addressing the
discrepancies if any during the admission process.
3. Merit List will be based on the policy of best of 4 subjects in case of ISC and best of 5 in case of
CBSE, and other State Boards. Based on the eligibility rule table (Annexure l) the marks
obtained in the subject for which the candidate has applied will mandatorily be a part of best of
4 or best of 5 subjects for calculating the merit of the candidate.
Note: Sikkim government Law College, Burtuk will consider only those candidates who have
passed five subjects compulsory either in CBSE, ISC and other state board.
4. Candidates other than Certificate of ldentification or Sikkim Subject or Residential Certificate
must have atleasiTO% Cumulative mark to be eligible for merit list but if the candidates score is
less than 70%, they will be directly called for counseling.
Note: For counseling the candidate must have filled online registration form.
5. Candidate who are not list out in 1st and 2nd merit list they will be called for counseling but the
admission will purely based on the vacant seats followed by category wise reservation.
6. Category wise Reservation on lntake Capacity:
a, fhe 85% of the lntake Capacity of all the Government Colle8es will be reserved for
Certificate of ldentification or Sikkim Sub.ject Holders.
b, LO% of the lntake capacity will be allotted to Residential certificate Holders. only the
certificates issued in pursuance of Home Department Notification No: 23/Home/2015
dated 15/05/2015 will be considered valid.
c. 5% intake capacity will be allotted to wards of Regular state Government Employees
(Non-Local); Central Government Employees, Army Personal, CPMF transferred or
working in Sikkim at the time of admission of their ward, candidate who have studied in
Sikkim Government School and candidate belonging to outside the state'
d. For Differently Able Candidate 3% of the total intake capacity of each program of all the
college will be reserved for the allotment of seat on the basis of merit list Senerated.
Note: lf the seats in any of the category remain vacant it would be accordingly allotted
to the candidate having Certificate of lCentificatio j1, Sikkim Subject and Residential
Certificate Holder. Further, if the seats are still vacant it would then be considered to
Regular State Government Employees (Non-Local); Central Government Employees,
Army personal, CpMF transferred or working in Sikkim, and candidate who have studied
in Sikkim Government School and candidate belonging to outside the state at the time of
admission of their wards on the basis of merit.
7. A Candidate can opt for either three colleges with one course per college or one college with
three courses, or three colleges with three courses provided they are eligible to opt for the
course and college (Refer Annex l).
8. The Candidates who have studied Science in their 10 r 2 can apply for 8.5c, B A, B Com or B'Voc
based on the eliSibility rule table (Refer Annexure l).
9. The Candidates who have studied Humanities in their 10 + 2 can apply for B.A. or B.Voc based
on the eligibility rule table (Refer Annexure l).
10. The candidates who have studied commerce in their 10 + 2 can apply for B.com, B.A. or
B.Voc based on the eligibility rule table (Refer Annexure I).
11. The Candidates who have studied vocational in their 10 + 2 can apply for B.Voc, B.com, B.A. or
B.Sc(Computer Science) based on the eligibility rule table (Refer Annexure l)'
12. Seat allocation is completely based on Marks Percenta8e (cumulative marks) and course. Merit
List will be generated as per the marks percentage scored by the candidate followed by course
which they have a pplied.
13.compartmentalcandidatesofacademicyear2oTg-20arenoteligibletoapply.Howevercandidates who cleared the improvement exams prior to admission for 2019 can apply.

14. The candidate whose name is listed out in various colleges in merit llst, he/she will be eligible
for admission to only one college and with his/her choice of course.
15. Candidates who will pay the prospectus fee through Demand Draft must upload the scan copy of
the Demand Draft at the time of registration and submit the same during the time of Admission.
Calculation for Cumulative percentage:
Cumulative percentage of the candidate will be calculated as follows:
a) Aggregate percentage of a candidate best of (5 for CBSE and Best of 4 for lsc ) will be taken as
Component A
b) Component B will be his marks on the subject/ course that he has applled,
c) Therefore cumulative percentage will be (A+B)/2, this will be the base for deciding the percentage.
