4 5KANKAKEE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 2019 MEMBERS CONNECTIONS GUIDE
As we wrap up another year and look forward to the future, I want to thank all of our 400 members for their support over the past year and ask you to continue to be engaged in 2019 and beyond. As we look back at our successes in 2018, it is clear that support from our members comes in many forms, from countless volunteer hours, to sponsorships and lent professional expertise. We simply could not put on the programming we do without that support.
While we are proud of the work we accomplished in 2018, our board, with the help of Barbi Brewer-Watson, our president and CEO, has set its sights on further growth in 2019. A Chamber is only as strong as its membership, and we all benefit from having more members. As such, the recruitment of new members will continue to be a focus of the board and the Chamber staff. Our commitment to growth is not limited to membership numbers but includes expanding our programming and reach as well. To that end, we are excited to welcome the Black Business council, the Retail Council, and the Restaurant Council to the Chamber. If there is programming that you would like to see the Chamber provide, I would encourage you to contact the Chamber’s offices.
My request for you in 2019 is simple. Please continue to invest in the Chamber, and help us promote commerce in Kankakee County.
Sincerely, Scott Smith
Chairman’s Letter

Member to Member“Within the pages of this book are many ways your business can stay connected with the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce and market your business throughout the region. I encourage you to put our events on your calendar and participate whenever your schedule allows. Membership benefits continue to evolve as our Chamber grows. We have the ability to help you with mailings and marketing strategies, or connect you to new vendors and partners. Each member offers a new opportunity
for the Chamber, its members, and our communities. It is in that spirit that we present to you this 2019 Chamber Connections Booklet. With 400 members there is always room for your business or organization to create new customers, vendors, or colleagues. When you make a new connection with a member they share your story with their connections and through a ripple effect; your business finds community and economic support. Please tap into the Chamber this year. Get connected and stay connected with the Chamber in 2019. Share with us your news, your deals, and your story so we can share it with others. Find us on social media and share our posts with your connections. We are on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. Feel free to tell others about the Chamber. Place the Chamber logo on your website, newsletter, or get the Chamber decal for the front door of your business. Lastly, join one of our committees. Joining one of our committees puts you in the center of the work that we are doing in Kankakee County to help our members’ businesses and organizations thrive and prosper. Thank you for being a member of the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce and being a part of Kankakee County’s exciting growth.”
