Principal’s Pen
Dear Doral Parents,
The month of December is a busy month for all of us as our
talented students demonstrate their many talents. December’s
highlights include fabulous holiday performances from both our
elementary and upper school students. We have scheduled three
winter performances with specific focuses at school and we have
been invited to perform at many community events. The detailed
schedule is included in this newsletter. We hope that you will be
able to join us. Our student leadership groups, National Junior
Honor Society (NJHS) and Student Government, have been
busy participating in community service projects including an
ornament drive for families with children who suffer from
cancer and the Fill the Stocking project for Street Teens which is
an organization that provides support to homeless and at-risk
youth as well as a toy drive for children living at St. Jude’s
Ranch. NJHS will also participate in the Fill a Fire Truck
campaign with the North Las Vegas Fire Department.
January will be filled with many opportunities for our students
to experience the arts including the Fellar’s Art Factory which
will return to our school during the week of January 25th. We
are excited to be included in their schedule again this year.
On behalf of the entire Doral Academy staff, I would like to
wish you a wonderful holiday season.
Thank you all for your support.

In Mrs. Varricchio’s enrichment class, each student researched a
charity and then did chores around the house to earn money. The
students pooled their money so they could donate it to a
single charity. The charity they selected was the World Wildlife
Fund. The enrichment class is symbolically adopting a snow
leopard.
