miles through California and is approximately 50 miles wide and lies between the Sierra Nevada and Coastal Mountain ranges.
ROCKY MOUNTAINS
form the Continental divide which separates rivers draining to the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans.
APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS
created a natural barrier to early travel across our Country
SIERRA NEVADA mountain range
is 400 miles long and extends from Bakersfield California to the eastern part of California. We can visit Yosemite National Park when we go here.
MT. MCKINLEY highest peak in
North America coming in at 20,330 feet in elevation above sea level and can be found in Alaska
MT. WHITNEY found in the
Sierra Nevada Sequoia National Park and is the 2nd highest peak in North America.
CASCADE RANGE This range
includes Mount St Helens and Mount Rainer. The saddest part is that this was heavily logged.
