A Heart of Gratitude!
Jesus wanted us to lean into our hearts when we love our neighbor! I am a believer that gratitude should come from the heart as well!
Jesus grew up as a young boy memorizing the law of His Father in heaven, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength---and Love your neighbor as yourself”. The key to faithclearly love and gratitude. I have received both from the members and friends of Community of Christ.
On Sunday, December 20th (the date of my 64th birthday) our church family blessed this pastor with a parade of blessings and gratitude! I received countless expressions of thanks and appreciation from members and friends of the congregation and community! Gratitude was given in so many different ways! Balloons! Signs! Fist bumps! Words! Tears! Cards! Gifts! Cookies! A police force escort! Fire fighters showed up! So many prayers---and every expression came from your hearts!
Although we no longer reside in Whitehouse, Ohio---our hearts remain with you this New Year and they burst with gratitude! Thank you for reassuring me that the time we shared together has been blessed by the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Thank you for reminding us of the awesome times in worship, especially during the seasonal times of year! Thank you for remembering the youth events, retreats, confirmation classes that nurtured young hearts---and your pastor’s heart too! Thank you for applauding the Bible studies that were blessed by the Holy Spirit! I am grateful to stand in the historic company with Pastor Ray and Pastor Rich----I owe our continued growth to the foundation they established in parish ministry!
Thank you for remembering the last
nine years with happy hearts!
Marsha and I are grateful for the
invitation that was extended to us 9
years ago, and the sendoff that
brought us joy on December 20th!
May the Lord bless you and yours in
2021! May the Lord heal our land
and His people!
Peace.
Pastor Matt

What does VIRTUAL WORSHIP
OFFER??
Please continue to join us on Sunday morning
via Facebook or check out our web site
www.commofchrist.org. Worship is the most
important meal we can receive for a healthy
faith! Your Church offers God’s Word, hymns you can sing, Liturgy you can sing, creeds you
can speak, prayers you can share, children’s time in your own home, a relevant inspired
message for today’s concerns, the freedom to safely receive Holy Communion with bread and
drink. You can chat with each other on-line or
just friendly, ‘Good morning’ or blessing for a fellow church member or your Pastor! Is it the
same as ‘being in church’---No, However, the
scriptures encourage us to not grow weary---
remain vigilant in staying connected with God’s Word! Blessings!
.

OUTREACH
Once again through the amazing generosity of our COC congregation we have been able to bless the children and teenagers of Salem Lutheran Church. Even during these difficult times with so much uncertainty our members came through for Salem’s “Angels.” Ken and I would like to thank everyone who gave so generously and a special thank you to Matt Dewitz for helping us load all of the presents into Pastor Mike’s van!
We are grateful for those offerings that are received. Your gifts to the mission of the church keep us strong
and able to meet the costs of our ministries. Thank you for sharing your
faithful offering with your congregation!
