Our StoryFat Hog and Big Pan Catering wanted to offer a new style of catering that brought together unique ideas, fresh high quality food presented in a rustic interactive way with amazingly fresh flavours - which is what we have done successfully over the last 10 years and continue to do.
We didn’t want to just provide great food we also wanted to provide a personal service to our customers offering advice, support and being on hand to answer your questions about your function.

Wedding BreakfastThe Carver A truly unique catering idea that has become a popular request in the last year. The Carver is a fresh tasty option perfect for the foodies and meat lovers.
The Carver gives the guests the opportunity to be the showman rather than us as on each table one person is nominated as The Carver. It also makes the food a feature of your big day you and your guests won’t forget.
How it worksEach table has salads and potatoes (of your choice) in rustic wooden bowls, freshly baked breads in baskets, chutneys and sauces in Kilner jars for guests to help themselves.
The whole succulent chicken and tender rib of beef is cooked by the chef and served on the wooden chopping boards for The Carver to carve and serve to their table. With each individual guest being able to create the meal they want.

We buy fresh quality ingredients for each function which means we are not reliant on using ‘stock’ food or ‘bulk’ food therefore we do not have to stick to set menus, we can do whatever you want.

Unlike other hog roast companies we don’t use a spit-roast machine we cook our hog roasts in a confit oven (these can be used inside or out). They cook the pig really really slowly and the heat circulates creating a truly tender pork (similar to pulled pork) that will melt in your mouth.
We serve the pork and sides on our rustic wooden display and with so many chutneys and sauces it makes it interactive allowing guests can really create the meal they want.

The Big Pans entice your guests’ senses with the sounds and smells of the food being freshly cooked in front of them. Giant whisky barrels are used as tables for the pans these fit in with our rustic country style and creates a centre piece.
The Big Pans are over 1 meter wide and weigh about 20KG. We can cook over 120 portions in a Big Pan. We do have smaller pans for smaller functions.

We are a self sufficient professional company bringing our own catering gazebo, BBQ, kitchen equipment; and clothed rustic display that includes, using Kilner jars for sauces, wooden bowls for the salad, wooden sleepers and planks for that ultimate look (which is all part of the price).
