Myanmar Tourism Federation (MTF) was formed in April 2011 with guidance and support from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and the objectives are as follows: • To promote Myanmar as a tourism destination • To collaborate in the process of Sustainable Tourism Development • To support multi-sectoral development of Hospitality and Tourism industry in Myanmar MTF consists mainly of members of the private sector including Myanmar Hotelier Association, Union of Myanmar Travel Association, Myanmar Marketing Committee and eight others namely hospitality and tourism related associations in Myanmar. Since its establishment, MTF has participated in both local and international tourism promotional activities, national and international level tourism workshops, seminars and conferences and sent delegations to participate them in overseas. MTF has also collaborated with the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism for human resource development of tourism industry in Myanmar and has been able to cooperate with international development partners for tourism development.
