Before we start• The early slides have text• The later ones have pictures• I’ll try to make it painless• Ask if you have any questions• Laugh if I tell a joke
Do once• Using Windows Explorer create C:\etmas folder• Within that folder create two sub-folders
– C:\etmas\downloads– C:\etmas\returns
• Install file handler from CD or download from eTMA site• Configure file handler
Creating folders• In Windows Explorer navigate to the
C:\ “bit” • Select “File -> New -> Folder”• Name the folder “etmas”• Click on the etmas folder and use the
same process to create the subfolders

open” to tell the file handler where the etmas will be
Now we’re set• Real eTMAs are collected from TutorHome but we’ll
use the training system• http://etma-training.open.ac.uk/etma/tutor/
On the training system • Staff number and OUCU• Tick box 1 (and others if you feel the need)• Enter the training password• Wait while the system creates dummy assignments

Collecting• Click“Uncollected”• “Select all”• Click “Collect”• Save the file to C:\etmas\downloads
Unpack• Find the file and run it
• Accept the default – c:\etmas\downloads
Handle files
Opening the assignment• Clicking on the file will open it in your word processor
Having caught your assignment• Mark it!
Save the zip • You might have to tell the file handler where they go
the first time you use it
