What is eRx Script Exchange?
eRx Script Exchange uses secure communication over the internet to provide:
• Transmission of original prescriptions from Prescribers to Pharmacists
• Retrieval of repeat prescriptions by Pharmacists
• The option for Prescribers to be notified of a dispense event – (with patient consent)
• The option of patients having their dispensing history sent to 3rd party service providers upon request e.g. IEHR (Not implemented and only with patient consent)

eRx and the Pharmacy Guild
• To support the establishment of eRx Script Exchange, the Guild has contracted with eRx to underwrite a minimum 10.6 million electronic scripts for its members.
• There is significant support and endorsement from the Guild.
• Guild contract with eRx includes minimum service and support standards for pharmacists by eRx and certified IT Vendors.

deployment this month

• Continuing discussion with other IT partners & industry participants
• eRx was launched and demonstrated at APP Gold Coast on April 3 & demonstrated at the GPCE in Sydney on 22-24 May
• National deployment of eRx Script Exchange April ‘09 with ongoing enhancement through 2009
