Write down if anything out of the ordinary happened during the day (extreme stress, happiness, etc)
Write down the dreams or parts of dreams that you remember

What is consciousness? Write a definition in your own words.
CONSCIOUSNESS
Awareness of yourself and your surroundingsConsciousness is……….

Multi-leveled: Ranges from an alert awareness to stupor of deep sleep
CIRCADIAN RHYTHM
Regular bodily rhythms that occur on a 24 hour cycle which corresponds to changes such as body temp., blood pressure, and hormone levels
WRITE 2 OBSERVATIONS ABOUT THE CIRCADIAN RHYTHM BELOW
1. COMPARE AND CONTRAST BODY TEMP, SLEEP, AND MELATONIN2. WHAT DO YOU THINK MELATONIN IS?
WHY DO PEOPLE EXPERIENCE JET LAG?
WHY WOULD TRAVELING EAST TO WEST BE EASIER THAN WEST TO EAST? HINT: EAST TO WEST YOU LOOSE TIME EX: IF ITS 5:00 PM AND YOU TRAVEL 5 TIME ZONES WEST IT IS 12:00PM BUT IF YOU TRAVEL 5 TIME ZONES EAST IT IS 10:00PM
STUDIES ESTIMATE IT TAKES 24 HOURS FOR EACH HOUR OF TIME CHANGE TO RESET YOUR CIRCADIAN CLOCK
For the following examples use the timezone map and
1. Calculate how many time zones you would travel through
2. How many days would it take to reset your circadian rhythm?
3. Which of the trips would you experience the most intense and long lasting jet lag?
4. Which trips would have the lease effect?
