FROM THE PRINCIPAL PEDESTRIAN SAFETY
Once again I need to discuss safe practices because of the behaviour of some of our parents. Last Friday we had a
parent rushing their child across the street within 50 metres of the crossing. I know we encourage students to be at
school on time and if they are persistently late we do raise it with parents but it is not worth the risk with regard to
child safety. At all times practise and model safe road and pedestrian behaviours. Obey the road rules, if you find
that you are getting to school late, then leave home earlier, do not take risks with your children to be here on time.
PARKING
At times trucks need to access the construction site and from time to time more than one truck. When this occurs
they have to wait on the kerb outside the school. At all times this is monitored by traffic controllers to ensure safety
of drivers and pedestrians. I realise this can impact on the parents who bring their child or children to school or
EBASCA. All I can do is apologise and explain that it is necessary. If trucks had to wait in line on the road it would
cause traffic chaos. Please be patient and maybe just leave 5 minutes earlier when you come to drop off your
children in case you have to park further from the school than intended.
