ALTERNATIVE FUELS
Why Use Alternative Fuels?
Business and institutional sectors are aware of the push to replace conventional diesel and gasoline with alternative fuels in order to
become more energy independent and to improve air quality. Retail service station owners are under pressure from customers to
add ethanol-85 and biodiesel to their inventories. Fleet managers have found that replacing diesel- and gasoline-powered
vehicles with those that can run on compressed natural gas (CNG) or hydrogen not only reduces air emissions but also reduces
fueling costs.
Applying Knowledge and Insight
We act as your advocate with partners, contractors, and regulatory agencies. PWGC will work with you to design, permit, and
oversee construction of a new alternative fuel station or integrate alternative fuels equipment with an existing fueling station. Our
expertise in alternative fuels includes:
Fueling Station Planning and Design,
Equipment Specification,
Construction Observation,
Facility Testing, and
Commissioning for Retail Service Stations and Fleet Operations.
PWGC is knowledgeable of the alternative fuels industry and emerging national
codes and standards for alternative fuels equipment and station design.

STORM WATER MANAGEMENT
PWGC has the technical expertise to provide a full spectrum of Storm Water
Management (SWM) Services across industries. Our clients appreciate our high
quality standards and one-on-one project management approach for meeting
general permit requirements, governing regulations, regulatory trends and
authorities.
Why Storm Water Management?
The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) SPDES [State
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System] General Permit for Storm Water Dis-
charges from Construction Activity (Permit No. GP-02-01) includes provisions for
developing a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
A SWPPP must be developed for construction sites with land disturbances of one or more acres. The purpose of the SWPPP is to
maximize the potential benefits of pollution prevention and sediment and erosion control measures.
To implement successful SWM programs we prepare site specific SWM studies and
develop a site design and SWPPP that may be integrated as efficiently as possible
while achieving approval in a timely fashion.
To avoid delays during the actual work, we work with clients to incorporate
construction schedules into the SWPPP and design and specify with the practical
aspect of construction in mind as well as maintaining our focus on compliance.
Our expertise in construction administration will help relieve the worries from the
client for as smooth an installation as possible. Our design team quickly evaluates
possible alternatives to solving issues and assists to implement the most effective
solution. Clients can count on for work that will satisfy regulatory requirements.
Our excellent knowledge of local and regional regulatory trends and access to the
appropriate contacts give clients the confidence that the completed work will
satisfy regulatory requirements.
PWGC’s SWM services include:
• Site development, redevelopment, planning
• Storm Water drainage design and retrofits
• SPDES Permit Compliance/SWPPP Preparation

UNDERGROUND INJECTION CONTROL CLOSURE
In accordance with the EPA Underground Injection Control (UIC) program, PWGC customizes each UIC project to effectively
meet the needs of the client as well as the regulatory agencies’ requirements. Typically, UIC closures involve the following
services:
• Preparation of a closure plan for submittal to the EPA for approval. The plan details the nature and extent of the floor drain
(s), characterization of the floor drain(s) and evaluates whether remediation is needed.
• Characterization of the floor drain is performed by sampling the floor drains which is performed under the supervision of
appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Following laboratory analysis, PWGC prepares a closure letter documenting the sample collection and results. In the event
that the laboratory analysis indicates that the samples are contaminated, remediation prior to final closure may be required.
UIC closure investigations have been performed for many clients throughout New York State. Since each particular UIC project
may vary in the type of analyses or the number of floor drains, PWGC customizes the project to meet the needs of the client in
the most responsive and economical manner.
PWGC is dedicated to providing its clients with a cost effective and value-added product.
