The school was identified by FS Dept of Sport as the ideal school that is part of their mass participation programme.Handover – 19 March 2013

Province: Eastern CapeNov 2012 – The Sports Trust together with the SRSA has installed a sport court at Zamokuhle School in Matatiele in the Eastern Cape. This is to be complemented by a portable pool to promote water safety and teach people to swim in partnership with Swim SA’s Learn to Swim programme. The school is the centre point for the 239 public schools in this region.Handover: Sept 2013

Province : GautengNov 2012 – Linked to the Nedbank Cup was the campaign that for every goal scored a certain amount was allocated to The Sports Trust to upgrade the soccer field at MC Weiler Primary School in Alexandra Township. The official handover took place on 2 November.

March 2013– 165 Nedbank Sports Trust Development cyclists participated in the Argus Cycle Tour
June 2012 – 4 Riders from Rocklands High School is selected to the WP Province Cycling Team and are issued with upgraded road bikes for their achievements

Nedbank Soccer & Training Kits: National Programme
Province: National
In its 3rd year running, Nedbank has issued 344 soccer kits and 83
training kits benefiting 3,516 school children around the country
ENHANCING EDUCATION THROUGH SPORT
Nedbank Road Running Programme: KZN
Province: KZNJune 2012 – Nedbank’s objective to develop road running amongst learners has resulted in 5 schools identified by KZN Athletics being sponsored with kit and running shoes for 20 learners each per school to participate in the Aims Youth Race which happens the day before the Comrades Marathon. A total of 93 learners participated in the race. Zwelibanzi High won 1st prize and R10 000 and King Shaka High came 4th and won R4000
2013 – the schools have increased to 8 and 210 learners will be given the opportunity to participate.

NGC: Nedbank & Sun International Golf Development
Sponsorships
Province : NationalOctober 2012 – SAGDB (South African Golf Development Board) received kit and Equipment for their SAGDB junior squad to the value of R500 000. The players in this group are the leading youngsters in their programmes across the country and benefit the most from this donation. A further R278 000 has been set aside for the SAGDB National Squad for training camps and coaching
