Grammar Task Rubric #1 ENG 102
Grammar Portfolio
Directions: Following in-class direct instruction and practice, a task for each topic will be
assigned. Students will complete each task according to the following guidelines.
Format& CreativityEach task is labeled. Items within tasks are labeled as needed.Knowledge is presented in an original way. Examples include but are not limited to usingtechnology such as websites, PowerPoints, Prezi; scrapbooking, incorporation of pictures,
keepsake boxes, etc. The portfolio shows more effort than typed or handwritten entries in a
binder, notebook, or on a blank PowerPoint.
CompletenessEvery task item must be complete. For example, if Task Item #6 requires three
sentences and only two are written, the task item is incomplete.
AccuracyTask items will be graded according to the correct application of the grammar or
mechanical rule.
General Grammar & MechanicsAdherence to basic grammar and mechanical rules such as
end punctuation, beginning capitalization, MLA format, etc. is evident. Each task builds upon
another. For example, Task Item #4 teaches capitalization. Every Task Item completedafterwards must follow all of the rules of capitalization.
