Blue Sapphire is a FLOOD RESILIENT, SEMI-TSUNAMI AND SEMI-
EARTHQUAKE RESILIENT CITY. The city accommodates 100,000 of
citizen and the city hierarchy is based on a democratic political system. The
city is located at the East Coast of Malaysia and the close proximity with the
sea thus increases the likeliness of flood. According to urban structure, the
city was planned to give visual openness by locating medium and high level
of tower type skyscrapers properly. It uses maglev transportation such as
maglev train, maglev urban pod and maglev bicycle that reduces noise and
pollution. For the water and waste management, household sewage is
channelled to the sewage treatment plant through underground pipe while
the organic waste products are channelled to an incinerator. The energy
management system is based on local production and consumption of
renewable energy such as solar energy and wave energy. Blue Sapphire
has a resilient plan for each zone of the city and it is shown in the table
below.
